We were staying after a full discussions between us about the price. Yes it's expensive. But the location is nice, the vieuw is wonderful. The hotel is a oasis in the town. Everything is perfect. Our room was large, nice decoration, up to date. The swimming pool is amazing. The bar have everything that you are waiting for...(nice, confort, menu...) The location is in a area where the tourist feel confortable, not risky (if you respect the limits). Certianly an hotel too consider

The hotel is as described by other reviewers - small, intimate, beautifully restored, with impeccable service. The front desk staff are a mine of information on restaurants, clubs, sights, and so on. The only real downside is that the hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the nearest subway, along a road that you would almost certainly not want to take after dark. The alternative is a taxi - for which there was often a 20 minute wait. So if you just want to lie on the beach,this is probably not the place for you. But if you want an elegant and sophisticated home to return to after exploring Rio, and if you are willing to fork out maybe 30 Reais a trip for taxis, then this is the place for you.

We stayed in the hotel for 4 days and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the place.
The hotel itself with its building and a garden makes a big difference from hustle and bustle of the beach Rio. The surrundings is more authentic too so you can swing with the Brazilian mood of Santa Teresa. We want to thank you the personnel in the reception who were very helpful- thanks for your patience and undestanding. You could feel the friendly and helpful attutude of the people in the restaurant, in the bar, at the swimming pool and the others too.
We had a beautiful master room into which we were upgraded thus we enjoyed a lot of space with a gorgeous big balcony. It was great! The other rooms we saw were smaller.
All in all, a very nice experience, although expensive as we stayed ther just after New Year.

My husband and I had an amazing experience at this hotel where we stayed for three nights during our honeymoon. The ambiance was relaxing, the food fantastic, and the staff very helpful. We enjoyed the stunning panoramic views of Rio, and particularly the gorgeous view of Christ the Redeemer from our spacious hotel room. The design of the hotel is charming and the spa is not to be overlooked. I had an incredible massage, far superior to those I've had before. We recommend this hotel if you're looking for a breath of fresh air in a bustling city.
