Yes, the title of my review is positive, but that's because most restaurants on Avenida Atlantica are terrible (You often get better food at the kiosks across the street, on the beach side).
Don Camillo tries and succeeds offering a nicer atmosphere than the other neighboring restaurants, and the staff is more knowledgeable and attentive.
The food used to be quite pleasant and tasty, but has gone downhill during the last year or two (I have visited the restaurant about once per year the last 7 years). Sure - the pasta is still good, and the seafood is tasty - but the entire experience is mediocre - because they seem to be running on routine.
One of the main indications for that is the (lack of) presentation of the food: They have forgotten that we also eat with our eyes. A black rice with seafood was a gooey black mixture, with not a hint of another color or any attempt of nice presentation. The people at the table next to us asked us: "What's this?" with shock in their eyes, when the waiter brought us this dish.
It is not every day that the neighbor table comments on our food, in shock, so you need to work on your dishes - Don Camillo!
Summary: One of the better restaurants on Avenida Atlantica, but if you want fine dining you need to head for Ipanema, off the beach avenue, on one of the small restaurant streets there.
