“A taste of paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

Pousada Eliconial is a taste of paradise!

The friendly staff made our stay very comfortable. Owners Yvan and Ricardo kindly offered recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys, they were only too happy to organise everything from Spa bookings (at the wonderful Shambhala Spa) to flights to Rio! Whilst managers Roberto and Claudia, respectively made the best Caipirinha (Brasil’s national cocktail) and delicious cakes.

Breakfast at Eliconial is a special treat consisting of tea/coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, hams, cheeses, breads, pastries and of course Claudia’s wonderful cakes. After a dip in the pool it was a real pleasure to enjoy breakfast in the company of the resident parrot, dog, cats and the cute little monkeys who visit the beautifully kept garden.

I highly recommend the pousada Eliconial. It’s a beautiful, stylish, friendly and impeccably clean pousada. It is in a quiet residential area very near a nice beach and it’s an easy walk into Paraty.

We look forward to returning some day!

Room Tip: they all looked lovely.

“made to feel so welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Eliconial poussada is a little piece of paradise, the minute the electric gate closes you are in a little oasis of calm ,much needed after all the traveling. My favourite part of the day was breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and claudia's home baking accompanied with monkeys and parrot who would pay a little visit ! Roberto the barman made the best caipirinhas in Brazil ! consumed after sundown of course !! Ricardo and Yvan were wee darlings they couldn't do enough when i was trying to book my onward travel and encountered problems

“Walking into paradise”

After spending a couple of weeks in busy Sao Paulo for the 2011 Miss Universe Pageant, driving into the Eliconial compound was like entering paradise on earth.
We were greeted by soft bossanova music, afternoon tea and delicious cake. The pool and jacuzzi areas are pristine and inviting.
THe morning succulent breakfast in the company of owners Ricardo and Yvan in their cozy covered patio provide memories that last.
Acommodations are very ample and cozy in bungalos that are maid attended every day.
Ricardo, Yvan and their friendly staff along with their cats, french speaking dog, monkeys and parrot have etched fond and everlasting memories in my and my family's mind and heart.

“Great hospitality and awesome surroundings!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

I stayed at Eliconial b&b for three nights with my wife. It was great experience. The rooms are simply gorgeous. In the garden we feel like in Paradise with the birds and friendly monkeys!
Ricardo the owner and Yvan where fantastic hosts. The breakfast provided by Claudia and two other ladies was the best we had in Brazil.
We highly recommend this property!

“a week in paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

Eliconial is sooo laid back, sooo helpful.
Wonderful breakfasts on veranda by pool, complete with parrot and monkeys and blue & white swallows
Yvan and Ricardo were amazing, as were their cocktails!
Sea was just a moment's walk away....staying at Eliconial was just the best wind-down after a week in Panatanal tracking Jaguars.
