Abracadabra is a great boutique hotel, which has a terrace with a stunning view . The hotel is very peaceful and very quiet, and I feel best for couples. I really would not recommend coming here with children or if looking for a lively atmosphere at all, not the kind of place.

Our room was very high quality, with an excellent bed/pillows and rain shower. The service from the staff was excellent, most of whom speak excellent English (which is rare for the area). The barman was very friendly and always on hand with an excellent caipirinha or Bohemia beer. Wireless internet was free, although very slow. Breakfast was good, not fantastic.

Providing your priorities in a hotel are location, quiet, and beauty I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. Slightly expensive, but not in the context of Brazil - for example I found it to be much better value than our previous hotel (Porto Bay Internacional, RJ).

Quick word on Buzios itself, it's quite a developed resort town - thankfully no block towers yet, so still quite charming in atmosphere, although the main town gets a little rowdy at night. Very scenic throughout and lots of beaches, but not much to do/see besides the the usual boat/diving trips. Great for a 3 night stay I'd say to unwind after Rio...

Our time at Abrcadabra was absolute heaven besides being unlucky weather wise. The rooms were enchanting and were cleaned twice a day. The breakfast was delicious with a beautiful view of the city. Staff were friendly, and made it easy to get into town. Definitely worth the price, and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We were recomended Buzios by our tour operator to end our honeymoon spent in Argentina and Brazil. Abracadabra is a small, quiet boutique hotel, tucked away but still within 5 minutes of the busy centre of Buzios. Various beaches within easy walk or by water taxi which is a cheap and fun way of getting about.

The hotel has a lovely family run feel about it, our room had a fantastic view of the bay, breakfast around the pool was excellent with plenty of choice, food cooked to order and free flowing champagne if you fancied it!

Buzios certainly lived up to its billing as a trendy and chic destination which few people we have spoken to have heard of - most people in the bars and on the beach were holidaying Brazilians. We would love to go back.

Only two and a half hours from Rio and you cannot believe how different it is.

Our family of four, including our 23 and 25 year old children, stayed here and we all loved it. It is a very very special place. Every moment of every day and evening is serene and enchanting. The rooms have just the right special amenities, nice beds and sheets and nice bathrooms and incredible views. The breakfast is super sweet, great cocktails and lunch and the ambiance never quits. To sit by the pool and look out over the harbor is so peaceful and gorgeous. It is a short and easy walk to the central city and all shops and restaurants and at the end of each day on the many incredible beaches in the area we were always so happy to return to our peaceful home away from home. 5 stars!
