“Good, but need refurbishment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I quite like this hotel. Main entrance is nice, you get good view from any room, as the building is rounded. Room is large (average American size), but the bathroom is not that nice. Probably from mid 80s without refurbishment.
The hotel has a great swiming pool and gym. Breakfast is very good. Also had a dinner in the restaurant at the top of building, wonderful view and good food.
Location: in downtown of Foz do Iguazu, not in the road to Iguazu Falls like almost all else.
Tip: for lunch or dinner, go to Restaurant Chef Lopes, 3 blocks down n the street.
Cost/benefit: ok. For the money they could offer newer rooms.
I would stay there again.

“Terrible experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Good location in the heart of Foz do Iguacu. Staff in the other hand extremely unhelpful and rude. Far from being a good value for money.

“nice hotel in the middle of Foz”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The hotel is nice, with ok rooms, anything outsdanding, besides the bed, which was very good. Internet connection only available upon payment per day of use. The breakfast was very good, with a good buffet with good options. The swimming pool is nice, a good place to spend the end of the day with a drink. On the top floor there is a nice french restaurant with a very nice view, almost 360 of the city, with very good food, or just for a drink at night. Beside the hotel there is a bakery which has a buffet per kilo as an option for food not very far and at a good price. On the lobby, there is a small travel agency which makes trips to the touristic points of Foz, as the falls and Itaipu powerplant.

“Good place to stay in your visit to Cataratas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

I had a very good stay at this hotel with my family during a weekend trip to Cataratas. I can recommend this hotel to anyone, either visiting Foz do Iguacu for business or leisure.

Breakfast is complementary and has a good choice of options. Wi-Fi internet is also complementary in the room. It was easy to get a late checkout, which was good since my return flight was at 4 pm.

The hotel is located in the city center. This is good and bad at same time. It is bad because the city is unattractive, but it is good since you can go to banks, brokers where you can change your currency to reais or pesos with decent prices, restaurants and small shops paying reasonable prices. I imagine that these sorts of services are overcharged if you stay in a hotel in the road to the park. For example, many families had their dinner at a restaurant just besides the hotel (just turn left when leaving the hotel. It is the building next door). Food was good, the place was clean and reasonable and the price affordable.

Going to the Cataratas is easy. You can hail a cab. It will cost you at around R$ 40 (one way) to go the Brazilian side or R$ 70 (one way) to the Argentinian side. If you want saving money, but spending more time, the bus station to the Brazilian side to the Cataratas is close to the hotel. No more than a 10 minutes walk.

I spent one day in the Brazilian side and the other one in the Argentinian side. When returning you can use the swimming pool, sauna and gym center. My room had a 32’’ flat screen tv with a good variety of channels in many languages.

Two cons. Rooms need some refurbishing, but they are not old or broken, just outdated. Anyway, it is nothing that will shock you. Second, when entering the room, but just while entering the room, there was a smell of a smoking room. I turned the air condition on and that smell disappeared a few minutes latter. I have not felt that smell afterwards during the 3 days of my stay.

“Old, needs renovation, good location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

The location is in the center of Foz, with a very good connction with the falls (15 min by car) and opportunity to spend the evening outside. The rooms on the other hand clearly needs renovation expecially the moquette that is old and smells a bit. The bed is ok and so are the toilettes. Can be a good choice for a 1 night stay, max 2 but longer is not recommended. Good breakfast
