Ibis Joao Pessoa is located in Cabo Branco, a calm, residential area in front of the best beach of Joao Pessoa.

It is about 4Km away from Tambau beach, where most of the hotels and restaurants are located. It means that you have to take a cab ( 10 reais or US 6), or a bus to reach it. You can also rent a bike in the Hotel!

If you are a beach fan like me, it´s a very nice place to stay, as you can just cross the street and swim...but if you prefer to be at a walking distance from the major tourist area, better look for something else.

This Ibis is, from far, the best choice in Joao Pessoa regarding price, comfort and service. Opened two years ago, it's all new. LCD tv, digital air-con, great shower. Negative: room window opens just about 5 fingers, so if air-con is an issue to you... Breakfast is OK and it's not included. Despite being at a very quiet neighborhood, righ in front of Cabo Branco beach, its a half hour walking distance from any ATM, mall or supermarket. Public transportation is very ease to use an there is a bus stop right in front the hotel. Tip: you can schedule a cab to take you from airport to Ibis. Its cheaper but can only be arranged by phone with Ibis staff. Last but not least, this Ibis is 100% non-smoking and charge about U$ 25 for 7 day WiFi access.

This hotel is quite at the end of Cabo Branco beach, quite far from the centre where all the restaurants and nightlife are. At night it's a very quiet area. Easy to reach busier areas by bus or by cab. If you have a car, you can park next to the hotel. Few restaurants and a beach bar are nearby. The hotel also rents out bicicles, to discover the beaches of João Pessoa or the lighthouse, or the new "Estação de Ciencias" by Niemeyer, which is also nearby.

Breakfast is RS 10.--, quite average, but OK. The restaurant also serves dinner and works as a bar. The hotel has an internet corner, half an hour costs RS 6.--

The Ibis is an excellent choice in João Pessoa, however, if you think accommodation absolutely needs to be in the center of the nightlife and shopping area, then look for a hotel in Tambau, rather than Cabo Branco.

Ibis Joao Pessoa is a pretty nice hotel, just like any other Ibis. The difference of this one is that it was inaugurated a few months ago, so everything is brand new. It was the first Ibis I stayed with lcd tv in Brazil. It is located on Cabo Branco beach, far away from the main hotel area of Joao Pessoa, so it is a very calm neighborhood. One block away there is a very good pizzeria. Don’t forget to rent a bike and visit the Cabo Branco Lighthouse.
