Sonia und Ueli fuehren die beiden Pousadas im Pantanal und im Cerrado. Sonia und Ueli stellten sich als sehr orts- und fachkundig heraus!
Ohne die vielen Informationen die wir laufend bekamen waere die Tier- und Pflanzenwelt nicht so gut zu erfassen.
Besonders das Tauche im glasklaren Fluss in Nobres war ein Highlight.
Ein Besuch in der Trockenzeit waere evtl. lohnender, da dann die Tiere mehr an einem Ort sind.
Alles in allem genossen wir den Trip sehr und wuerde sofort wieder herkommen.

reception at airport in second-hand-bus without climatisation(35C) and drinks(had to buy water at petrolstation ourselves). owners talk about sale of property - we stayed in ueso-pantanal - and showed zero interest in their guests. absent during our stay they just left us with a caring german caretaker. the hotel, their owners and the property show sighns of deterioration and cannot be seen as the alternative in pantanal. it is quite shocking to see this as nr. 1 in pantanal and time that the rating is phased down to not recommendable.

I visited the Ueso pousadas in June 2010. June may not be peak season in the Pantanal but I thought it was an ideal time of the year. There was only a small number of tourists, the climate was extremely pleasant (especially after leaving the Melbourne winter behind) and there was plenty of wildlife to see, which is of course the main attraction of the Pantanal. Especially the birdlife is spectacular, but there are plenty of other critters to see (caimans in every puddle, capivaras, deer, ant eaters, monkeys etc) Sonia und Ueli, the owners of the pousadas are friendly hosts and extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, as was my tourguide Pawane. Both of the pousadas I visited (Cerrado and in the actual Pantanal) offered simple but very comfortable accommodation and a very pleasant, laid-back atmosphere. Every day a different tour/activity is lined up (horse-back riding through the bush, piranha fishing, etc) . I was only there for five days in total but would have liked to stay longer. I can thoroughly recommend the place.
