“Wonderful Winter Weekend Getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

This charming traditional B&B is housed in a beautiful 18th century stone house on a main street in Lancaster county PA. When you drive up, it looks just as you would imagine a B&B to be in this part of the US. The owners Chris and Jim are very welcoming, accomodating and make you feel a part of the family! They are very friendly and by the time you leave, you feel they are friends! Their breakfasts are wonderful with 3-4 courses and they are very flexible in working around special dietary restrictions.
The rooms are lovely each with its own antiques and Amish hand made quilts. As they are in Amish country some of the workers are Amish and the owners have a wonderful relationship with the local community.
We hope to return and must say that it was an excellent experience and best of all, it is all at an amazing value. Thank you Chris and Jim

“A truly rewarding experience”

Churchtown Inn is a wonderful B&B. I can't decide what was the best part - the simple yet elegant four course breakfasts, the wonderful hospitality of innkeepers Chris and Jim Farr, the glass of sherry and delightful conversations at night with fellow guests, or the spectacular country in which the inn is located. This is a true gem, a place we will return to again and again. If you are looking for charm and simplicity, quaint atmosphere and a truly relaxing experience, I highly recommend that you book your stay with Chris and Jim at the Churchtown Inn.

“The best”

In keepers Jim and Chris administer the perfect dose of medicine when it comes to engaging with guests. The indigenous breakfasts are delicious, bountiful and fresh. Our room was perfectly charming and comfortable. At first we feared that Churchtown was a little too far away from the primary sites of interest. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We soon learned that it was in the perfect location especially if you want to blend into the “Real” Amish Country and find a refreshing break at day’s end from visit the tourist sites. We loved the views, the hospitality and Jim and Chris’s version of hospitality. We can’t wait to go back.

“Above and Beyond our Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2010

I am hesitant to stay at any Bed and Breakfast however at the recommendation of a friend my wife and I spent 4 days at The Churchtown Inn.Let me say we needed to stay longer. Jim and Chris could not have made our stay more pleasant.Upon check in they had a sheet ready with all the different points of interest and places to eat along with step by step directions to these places. We also had our own lists and they directed us to them also.
We received a tour of the home and then sat down to some tea.
Breakfast is served at 9AM and it is out of this world. Only fresh items are served, This B&B is centrally located in the Amish Country. This makes is so easy to get around by car.We had a beautiful large room with our own bath.Very clean. Next time we go we are requesting one of the rooms that look out over the pond in the back and the views from those rooms are beautiful.
One last comment. I had to take a side trip to NYC overnight. My wife decided to stay at the Inn. Chris and Jim made her feel so special and part of the family. Chris arranged for her to attend a local luncheon with some ladies at an Amish home.An experience my wife will not forget.. We will be back and can only hope this review will help other people.
Oh by the way ask about Gracie Allen.....

“What great Innkeepers!”

We stumbled upon this inn last Fall and then had to return for one of their murder mystery weekends in the Spring. Tried to get a room again this year for Columbus Day weekend but it was all booked (no wonder). The breakfasts were unsurpassed by any other B&B where we've stayed. The murder mystery weekend was a unique and exciting experience. The innkeepers are incredibly friendly, accomodating and full of suggestions for local restaurants and activities. Free wi-fi and an added bonus. Can't wait to return for another getaway or murder mystery weekend...
