“Noisy night!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

I stayed in this property for only one night, with my wife. The room is ok, but I've stayed in better ones for less money; breakfast is ok (but ordinary - no incentive for overeating); service is kind.
There are a few things in which they could improve - for example, the room had a 20" tube TV, which looks 20 years old. The same goes for the telephones, toilet... I was surprised, because Golden Tulip acquired the property only some 2 or 3 years ago. One would think they'd refurbished it, but I was disappointed to find out they didn't.

Price is a bit high for what they offered - I paid US$120, which is too much for what they offered.

But the worst part was the noise - the ventilation system is extremely noisy, enough to disturb our sleep... I would expect a silent place, since it is far from roads (and buses, trucks, etc.). I wonder if it was only our room or if the whole property is this noisy! I found it terrible, hadn't had such a bad sleep in a long time.

Basically, Brasilia has much better options - I stayed at Melia and Tryp, and both are better (Melia is a bit more expensive; Tryp is about the same price).

Room Tip: If you're staying here, try to ask them for a quieter room. Don't know if they have any, but...

“Intruders twice in my bedroom”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

The positive sides are: interesting architecture, location by the lake, good buffet breakfast. Negative: TVs in bedrooms are of a very old model; there is no wifi, except in the lobby, so I could not use my IPad; no bed covers, only the plain sheets, I asked for one and was told "we used to have them but we don't any more"; toiletries are scant and of poor quality; maintenance in the gym is poor (only 5 running mills of which 2 were not working). The worst was twice being intruded in the bedroom by personnel who did not knock on the door. I am a woman traveling alone and it was very disturbing because both intruders were male employees. I tried to complain to the manager but was told that the manager was "in a meeting". For 3 days I tried to speak to the manager and the answer was invariably that "the manager is in a meeting".

“Could be better.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

The hotel is great and well located, but the front desk makes no effort to make your stay confortable.

During my stay, no only the people at the front desk seemed to be working totally unhappy but also I had the horrible experience of someone else entering my room in the middle of the night because the they gave the key of my apartment to a new guest.

They only apologize because I complained about that. Even so they said that was "just a mistake I should understand!" JUST A MISTAKE? 2.a.m.? They was probably kidding me.

I do not recommend this hotel.

“The best in Brasilia for leisure. Car required.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2011

I´d stayed in this hotel for Valentine´s weekend. It was great. There are 2 saunas (dry and humid), a large swimming pool an gym facilities. The hotel has a very pleasant location by the Paranoa lake. Food is great: breakfast has numerous options. It´s not good for business travelers, though, because it´s located far from the city centre. There aren´t options for food and drinks in the nearby area. So you´ll have to stick to the hotel options. Taxi is very expensive in Brasilia, so this hotel is not a good option if you´re not traveling by car. Hotel is modern with incredible architecture and vast gardens. Good for kids.
