the hotel was very good and in a good location (just one block back from the beach).The drinks in the bar were expensive compared to bars on the beach front but I suppose this is to be expected from a hotel.
Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice giving something for everyone.
Room was large with air conditioning which is a must at this time of year.
The pool is only small and after a certain time in the morning overshadowed by the hotel for the rest of the day but the beach is only 5 minutes walk away.

My husband and I stayed there for vacacion and it could not be better. The hotel is clean and its maintenance job is very efficient, i.e., you can easily note that the hotel cares about keeping everything in order. Staff is very helpfull and friendly.
The room we stayed (I believe it was the superior) was spacious and comfortable.
The location is priviledged. It is not in the beach avenue (boardwalk) but it is in the street right behind. It means you can stay right next to beach as you can keep some quietude. (Not mention that most of the hotels in the boardwalk are old)
The breakfast (which was included in the rate) is tasty and has many options: continental (bread, cheese, ham, scramble eggs etc) and brazilian local one (tapioca, isca de file, rabanada etc). Go hungry!

I highly recommend this hotel, from the moment that we arrived until the day we left the staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms although not large were certainly adequate for the purpose and were maintained to a high standard. Breakfast, included in the price of the room, provided a wide range of both hot and cold food and drinks. Staff were on hand at all times to replenish items as required or to clear tables. Meals at other times maintained the same standard at a reasonable cost.
The position of the hotel is such that it provides for easy access to the beach and the main shopping areas.

I stayed in this hotel in october 2006, so I don't know if things have changed since then.
Anyway, Diogo Hotel was above average in the area. The rooms were clean, staff was very polite and friendly and I had no problem at all. The swmming pool was nice, but the sun wasn't there because of the building' shadow. One of the things I liked the most was breakfast, the "tapioca" was gorgeous!!! You have to try, if you haven't yet. Across the street there is a Habib's where you can eat and don't spend much money. Also, there is plenty of banks and other restaurants near the hotel. In october 2006 there was no internet access in the rooms, but there was a lan house a few blocks from it.

The bad thing, not only for Diogo Hotel, but for anything nearby is the violence of Fortaleza in that region. Be aware when you walk around the streets!
