This was our first trip to Salvador and we found the Pousada Encanto de Itapoan to be in an excellent location near good beaches and restaurants. Our room was clean with good facilities and the Pousada had a lovely atmosphere. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very nice with fresh fruit, cereal, eggs and buns. Our holiday was made extra special by the hospitality of the owners, Octacilio and Janet, who went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time in this interesting part of Brazil.

My girlfriend and I go to Bahia often and we must admit, this was the first time we stayed at Encanto de Itapoan- and will certainly not be the last!!!
The pousada as a whole is very welcoming and cosy, has very clean facilities and a nice simple breakfast. Some of the nicest beaches in Salvador are located conveniently just around the corner and when you`re tired of sand, sun and salty water there is a nice area by the pool to sit around by, have a beer and chill out)).
Of particular importance and by far most noteworthy was the warmth and friendly manner in which the owners Octacilio and Janet take care of their guests. Octacilios knowledge (being a player himself) of Brazilian music is boundless and thus provides all the more feeling to truly being in Bahia!! Dustin & Luiza, Copenhagen- Denmark

We have been visiting Bahia for several years now. Encanto de Itapoan has proven to be the perfect place. The staff is always polite, helpful, and has the information we need for our treks around the area. The owners, Octacilio and Janet, are caring, friendly, and genuine (they even saved my life when my appendix burst). We enjoy our restful stay in the well appointed rooms just yards from the beach. There is also a pool, deck, and sitting area for those who want to stay in. There is a nice breakfast buffet complete with tropical fruits, breads, cakes, yogurt, cafe de leite, etc, This area is quiet and close enough for short journeys into the historic city. The airport is close, but out of the flight path.
This is the only place for us when we visit Bahia!

The location is the best you can hope for if you love the beach, to fish, or just to sightsee.The accommodations are great, the hosts are down to earth and engaging. It's home away from home for me I will be going back for my third trip this year in oct.It's a great place just to chill.
