We loooooved Pousada do Boqueirao. After trekking around in Lencois and a long bus ride to Salvador, Pousada Boqueirao was an oasis of elegance and charm. We stayed in the big colonial room—it was huge! Very nice wood furniture, view of the street, big bed, indoor hammock ... it had a shared bathroom down the hall, but the bathroom was very nice, large, and clean and I didn't ever see another guest or have to wait. The owner and staff were very helpful, it felt secure from the street with a buzz-in front door. For breakfast there was a huge spread and we dined on the outdoor patio overlooking the city and bay. Gorgeous.

Beautifully decorated, indiviually designed rooms, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the best breakfast we had during our holiday.

The proprietress Fernanda and her staff made our stay comfortable, beautiful, easy and tasty. Both Fernanda and her brother Nino went out of their way to guide us, make reservations at other locales, support our business needs. The staff were always ultra helpful and filled with good will. Fernanda's decor is chic but steeped in traditional style.
We don't want to go home!!!

We stayed here for five nights and as everyone has already said, the breakfasts are amazing. We also had dinner here one night (must be booked in advance - they get busy and only accomodate a few people!) which was the best meal we had in Salvador. The room we had (room 9) did have a good view but it was a squeeze to get around the bed and the bed was the hardest bed I've ever slept on! The owner (who was the only person who spoke English) was not particularly friendly either which put a real dampner on the place. The tourist information place was rubbish so we really could have done with his advice - fortunately, we met a couple who were staying in Hotel Casa Bella and their owner welcomed us with open arms, chatted to us, advised us and even gave us a free drink! Next time, we would stay there!
