Beautiful view, friendly staff, nice hotel, the deluxe room is comfortable but the air conditioning did not work well and the shower was the same of that used in Formule 1 hotel. Quite expensive for a Mercure's style.

Very nice hotel, beautiful and clean rooms. Wonderful pool, overlooking the sea. In a good area, you can walk to restaurants and it is about a 10 minute drive from the historic center.

We stayed 4 nights over New Year. We loved the sea view from our room. The room was quiet and comfortable.The swimming pool was lovely, beautifully positioned in front of the hotel on the sea edge. We spent a lot of time at the pool.
The front desk was very helpful with getting taxis.
The breakfast was very good, lots of fruit and a lady who made special eggs / tapioca pancakes to order.
We were very happy with our stay and would stay here again.

We chose the hotel for our last night in Salvador as it is located in a good area for restaurants and nightlife yet an easy ride to the airport for our early flight.
The service was prompt, friendly and professional. we were greeted and well taken care of.
unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy the nearby beaches which looked very nice and secure though (albeit with some rough waves). the hotel pool offers great views and a prompt bar service.
the local area felt safe, we walked to and from our restaurant in the empty streets with no problems, although we travel a lot and usually are less frightened than most. if in doubt, there are plenty of cabs. the Rio Vermelho bus to the airport (less than $3US each) stops at less than 300 yards and is a frequent (every 15 minutes in daytime) and fast option (35-40minutes) to a costly cab ($50US) to the SSA airport.
