“Great location and really helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012 via mobile

This little cafe hostel was our first stop on a 3 month tour of south America. Unfortunately our luggage did not make it with us but the staff at the hotel were super helpful and phoned the airport hourly to chase it down and it arrived the next morning (few). Breakfast here is excellent and the rooms spacious and clean. It is just off the main square and therefore perfect location. Rooms also have great air con and a fridge as well as a safe. Really loved our stay here and thanks to the staff for there help and good English.

“Excellent boutique property at a super location”

It is an excellent boutique hotel, right on Praca da Se. Cannot find a better location. You are a 2 minute walk from the Lacerda Elevador, 1 minute from Terreiro de Jesus, and 2 minutes away from the Praca da Se bus terminus.

They have installed air-conditioning over the last 2 years, so it was very comfortable. There is no elevator, but the staff carried our luggage up and down the stairs. The owner Michel is very very helpful. All reception staff speak excellent English. There is a laundry nearby that washes your clothes at about R$ 10 per kilo. Free wi-fi is there.

Would definitely stay here again. Location was super.

“Loved loved loved this hotel!!”

This is a real gem of a hotel, located right in the heart of the Pelhourino a minute's walk from the elevator. Its been lovingly restored by the owner, Michel who is a great guy, helpful and friendly. Andre is wonderful on reception - its hard to find people in Salvador that speak good English so this was a godsend - he really helped me out a few times. Breakfast is great - you even get to order eggs as you want them with no extra charge! There is an internet cafe downstairs with a proper bar as well - the first real bar we'd seen for a while, which was great to hang out for a chat with others in the hotel. I know some people have referred to noise, but we didn't have an issue with that - it is located on the main square and it can be a bit dodgy after dark - but thats the Pelhourino for you. If you don't expect that, you should stay away from this area and make it a day trip instead. Cheapest place we stayed in Brazil and I can't recommend it highly enough.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I booked into this boutique hotel/coffee bar after a really bad experience in Salvador. It was a breath of fresh air. The owner Michelle was wonderful, the rooms are exceptional and the linen/towels are fresh and of good quality.

Right in the heart of the Old Town, Pelourinho, its a bussy night life, 10 minutes to the beaches of Barra and souranded by great retsuarants and Bahainian food and hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was sorted out.

The rooms are spacious and artistically furnished, great WiFi (free) and supperb coffee. The breakfast buffet (inclouded in price) is over whelming.

Room Tip: Choose something near the back (as the nights are quite lively and the music goes on for hours)
