This is the best hostel to visit if in Salvador. It is located smack in the Pelourinho so you get the full cultural experience of Salvador. We stayed in a private ensuite double room (Macau) overlooking the small pool and two of the three chillout areas (2 outdoors). Free wifi and free computer use. The free breakfast is from 8am to noon and includes various fresh fruits including oranges, bananas, watermelon, mangos, papaya and also fresh bread, ham, cheese and made or order eggs. What I really liked most about this hostel was the friendly and accommodating staff! From the owner down they went out of their way to provide information and also a nice friendly atmosphere. Ask anything and they would stop what they were doing to help you. This hostel is also very clean, the rooms, the bathrooms and also fresh sheets and towels. Our room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. Also they have a daily free happy hour from 5 to 6pm with all you can drink capirinhas. This was an excellent time to meet other travelers and plan for the evening. Priceless. The hostel also owned a restaurant around the corner (Zulu) where guests received 10% off. I highly recommend this hostel!

Hostel Galeria was the perfect place for us. We stayed there for 3 nights in a clean and safety area.
Staff was friendly and helpful, nice little pool and perfect breakfast where its never to late for scrambled eggs.
Ask the staff for the nicest beaches or whatever and with patience they give the answers.
Rooms are clean and also the showers are nice and warm and thats always a good thing after a long trip.

So next time in Salvador..... Hostel Galeria 13
