We stayed at the Ponta Verde Praia for four nights over Easter. We found that the reception staff were rather rude and unhelpful; despite booking a double room over the internet (as two same sex travellers) we were automatically given a twin. This was not the case in every other hotel we stayed in Brazil. When pressed for time on checking out, the staff were very slow and surly.
There are not enough lifts for all the rooms. Frequently one waits a very long time for the lift and it arrives already full. There were problems with the panoramic lift, it broke down with us inside, and went in and out of service.
The breakfast was nice, although the table-cloths were shabby and stained.
The room was adequate, with rather old fashioned decoration. The air conditioning was efficient and quiet. All of the water in the mini-bar had passed its expiry date, and was replaced by more water that had passed its expiry date.
The pool was tiny, and the pictures of it are deceptive.
The location of the hotel is great: it is right in front of the beach.
We didn't find that the hotel represented good value for money as we stayed in some rather plush places in more expensive cities for the same price.
