“For visiting near Auburn City only”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Nice place to stay in Cedars Inn where it is suitable only for Auburn area. If you want to visit, Seattle Downtown, this is not the place to stay.

Rooms are quiet Big, Free Local calls, Buffet Continental Breakfast and other services like laundry, restaurants not available in the Hotel.

Room Tip: For visiting near Auburn City only not for Seattle Visitors

“5 star service at a 2 star hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

This little roadside hotel may be listed as two star but the service makes it a five star in my opinion. The staff at this hotel could not have been more accomodating. From free taxi servcie to the casino to special fruit platter in the am by request, this hotel's service was above and beyond!
The building is older and dated(rooms are dark) but the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Also, for being close to a main road, it was pretty quiet. Good location if you are on a budget for accomodation and want more money to spend at the "supermall" and some fun casino entertainment in the evening. We would definitly stay again, thanks to the great service.

“Best Stay and Price, nice staff and rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

The only problem we had was the air condition. The staff was wonderful. We put up the do not disturb sign and we were not disturbed. Our Mother was in the hospital and we never knew when we would return to the hotel and we were always treated with respect and dignity. Bob and I are from SC and this is better than most of the motels that we have stayed in.

We have stayed at $150 hotels that were not as friendly as your staff.
Our Mom Had a stroke and we had to stay in an un expensive motel; however, we were really surprised to have the service that we had.

Thank you so very much, I am so very sorry that we didn't get the girl's name.
Thank you again, Bob and Judy, We are from South Carolina

“Run, run for your lives!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

The web site is great and the price (about $60) for a queen bed was about three quarters what the surrounding hotels were charging. Boom went the booking and off we went. We arrived at looked like pretty much what we expected, a non-descript, neon signed, two storey job on the town's off ramp strip.

The front desk staff was great. Polite and efficient to a fault. Then we got to the room. First off; I like to smoke tobacco; but never in my life have I walked into a room that smelled like a thousand monkies smoking a thousand cigarettes who hadn't ever been allowed to open a window. All non-smoking rooms were booked at this point, so we headed off to buy some Febreeze just to make the air in there breathable.

Time for dinner, so we go for a quick wash to get the road off our faces. One face towel has black smudges on it... the other; a previous guests' lipstick. We went out for our dinner and then stopped by the local mall to buy a couple of pillows because the mints some hotels put on their pillows are bigger than the Cedars' pillows.

After coming back from dinner... another swaddling dose of Febreeze in a losing battle to stop the air smelling like Dennis Leary's index finger.

It's time for bed. Pulling back the covers on the bed, we found large black smudges on some of the linen... too late to buy replacements for the hotels shortcoming, we have to do without. Closing the drapes for the first time in anticipation for bed, we find a large burn hole in them. This is not worth the initial savings once envisioned.

At 6:00 that morning, after virutally no sleep, (due in shivering large part to a lack of covers and an unallayed fear that something else has just got to go wrong) I dragged my weary butt around town and found a clean hotel that would take us in ... then and there.

Before I forget; we found a couple of neat things in the room. We found the clock radio on the floor behind the bedside table as we were checking to make sure we had all our stuff before we fled. We didn't know we had one before then. And we found previous guest's shopping trip receipts from as much as two weeks previous to our stay.

Run.

Dear Guest,

I apologize for any inconvenience.
We take all feedback to our staff to see how we can improve.

For future reference, I would like to inform you that all of our booking engines specific smoking vs non-smoking rooms. You booked a smoking room. Unfortunately, upon check inn you were notified that you had booked a smoking room and we had no vacancy. We offered to find another hotel but you declined.

As far as issues, we did replace towels at your request.

We weren't notified of any other issues, which is unfortunate. We could have addressed outstanding issues at the time of your visit to ensure a good night stay.

My apologies once again, our staff prides themselves on customer service, cleanliness, and quality of room.

Warmest Regards,
Property Manager

“Eh..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011

This hotel is just.. Eh. I mean, the location is good, the front desk is helpful and polite.. Prices are pretty good. Just.. You walk in, and you're immediately hit with an odd smell.. Almost reminded me of cat litter.. First thing when entering the room, the alarm clock is missing, the remote is missing and bathroom light is out. Fortunately the staff is pretty good, and got us everything we needed. The beds were rock hard, with two small, flat pillows.. The drawers in the dresser were worn and wouldn't open or close very well, towels in the bathroom were just dingy enough to notice, and creep me out a little.. Internet connection would not work, which isn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice.

If you need a cheap-ish place to stay, it'll work for sure.. It's just.. Not quite up to comfy par.
