I am originally from WA state so me and the kids planned a trip back here up north to show them the area, as we currently live now in California. We read the reviews on here, most of them good, some of them bad, so we decided to check it out because the lake quinault region was on our to see list. Heres my thoughts:
The place is absolutely beautiful. Such a serene setting and the owner, Jon, was the one of the nicest people i have met in our travels. Makes me miss the kind folk up here in the NW. He invited us in, cooked us some food, poured us some wine and showed us around. There are a few dogs that he has, which kept the kids entertained as well, so that was nice. The property is absolutely stunning, located right on the shores of the lake. You can tell Jon has put a lot of time and effort into making this place as beautiful as it's natural surroundings. I don't know why some people have a bad experience here, it seems as if you would have to make your own trip bad at a place like this. Given, the rooms are kind of old fashioned, but I always go into an adventure with an open mind. I mean, look at where you are at, you don't come out to these woods expecting a 7 star hotel room. So we quite enjoyed the decor and rooms. Comfortable beds, beautiful views, and cozy living. The unit we stayed in also had an upstairs for the kids. There was TV to keep them entertained as well.
All in all it was everything me and my husband hoped it would be and we would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling through the area. I cant see how anyone could talk bad about the owner or the place, clean rooms, clean living, great company, all nestled in an absolutely beautiful setting. Thanks again Jon!
