A colleague and I attempted to check in to the Guest House in Aberdeen, and as we told the front desk that we had two reservations under one name, the front-desk employee told us that there actually appeared to be four rooms reserved. At that moment, the hotel owner walked up and said that we were responsible for paying for all four rooms. He refused to talk to me, even though I was the one paying for the rooms, and instead argued with my colleague that made the reservation saying that we, the customers, were wrong and we clearly reserved four rooms so had to pay for them. He proceeded to call my colleague a liar and continued to refuse to charge us for only two roooms. Long story short, after the owner cussed us out for his hotel's mistake, he then cussed us out for deciding to leave town and find another place to stay. For the shear prinicple of the matter, we left him with four vacancies to fill instead of two! We drove the 16 miles to Oean Shores and each got ocean front rooms for $99/night and had one of the best dinners I've experienced in WA. It's too bad that we couldn't stay in Aberdeen and that he is the only big hotel in town as he has a monopoly on things and apparently feels he can treat his customers however he chooses. Drive for 30 more minutes and you won't regret it, but you certainly will regret giving your money to this jerk at Guest House in Aberdeen!
