The rooms were clean but the morning staff in the breakfast area were rude and ignored the patrons.

Have stayed here on business, a few times and this current time it was nasty. Walked into the room and went to wash my hands to meet my party for dinner and there was a skid mark in the toilet. Later when I went to bed the sheets had not been changed, there was a massive amount of pubic hair in the sheets. The desk clerk stated that the room had not been clean just made up from the previous occupant. She was gracious and found me another room.

I hadn't stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in the U.S. before and had pretty low expectations - this place proved me wrong and left me pleasantly surprised. I'm really weird about hotels and cleanliness (probably a little OCD about it, to be honest) and both the lobby and my room were clean, tidy, and well kept. The room smelled fresh and clean too (none of the gross mustiness that you sometimes get in hotel rooms - even in nice hotels). Another good thing about this place is the staff - everyone I encountered was pleasant and helpful. Yay for free wifi too!

Being without electricity at home for three days (thank you Hurricane Irene), I booked a suite for my family to take showers and enjoy TV, computers and the like for the night. Due to the weather, they were totally booked by the time we got there at 4 pm. Despite that, our room was clean, relatively quiet and the overall hotel was very nice. The indoor pool was small but the kids loved it. The breakfast buffet was good, although they had run out of a few items.... Kings Dominion is one exit north and Bass Pro Shop one exit south. There are quite a few places to eat in the area. I would definitely recommend it as a nice, newer hotel right off I95.
