“Good location, substandard bathrooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Pros: The lobby and hotel staff were nice. The hotel was a short walk to the metro. It was easy to get a cab from the hotel. Cons: The bathroom was small and the shower was gross; peeling paint from the ceiling fell on me during my shower. I ordered breakfast downstairs for takeout and a substantial gratuity was tacked on to my bill (I forget the exact figure but at least 15% gratuity). Our room faced a central courtyard area which blocked direct sunlight to the room making it rather dark inside.

“Full-size, clean room; excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This hotel is conveniently located to points in Arlington, with easy access to routes into Washigton DC (just minutes away). The room was clean and reasonably updated (carpet, walls, decor, tv...the bathroom was clean but a little more dated), and reasonably spacious for a city hotel. No mini-bar, but there was a mini-fridge, which in many ways is more helpful. The Connexion Lounge had a reasonably-priced menu and a nice atmosphere with plently of room to find a quiet spot for entertaining. Most notably, the service was really excellent...every single employee I had contact with was cheerful and went out of their way to be helpful. Excellent management. On-site parking is $19/day, but is very convenient and includes in-out priveleges. Only downside to my visit was a small fitness center with only a few machines. For the price I paid (an excellent on-line rate), this hotel was a real value.

“good for work travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

It's pretty close to the metro and across the bridge from Georgetown. The beds are comfortable and it has a nice bar area and coffee place for breakfast. My only complaint is that the showers are small and it doesn't have the shower rod extender that I've gotten used to while traveling.

Overall, this is where I like to stay while traveling to DC for work (my business is in Arlington).

“Above and beyond....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We had a last minutes change to Channel 70 Productions shooting schedule and location and I had to get copies made, phone calls made, and, emails sent. The business center got me someone to assist in short order. My room had a terrific view toward DC. Room service was acceptable. Be warned, traffic in the area is horrific.

Room Tip: Request a view toward the east or northeast

“Good hotel close to the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I stayed for several days while I attended a conference at the hotel. Overall, it was a good experience. The staff were very attentive and accommodating (including changing my booking details at the last minute)

The room was nice and the bed was pretty heavenly (plenty of pillows and comfortable bedding, making it hard to get up for my morning meetings.) There was a big flat screen TV. Some of the rooms have an amazing view of DC, so try to get one of those if possible. I had a view of the parking lot, but still there was a balcony.
The conference room upstairs has stunning views. Even if you aren't using it, take a trip to the top floor to check it out.

The food we were served was consistently good. There's a Starbucks in the hotel for guests to grab a quick breakfast. I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant so I can't comment on that. There's a nice, quiet bar on the first floor and plenty of comfortable seating.

The gym is small but has everything you need for a decent workout. It opens early, which is a plus (I was in the pool by 6am!)

The location is good, though there's not much right near the hotel. This was off-putting at first but it's only a 10min walk to the metro to DC and Georgetown is a reasonable walk away.

The only downsides were the lack of internet and the temperature of the hotel. You have to pay extra for internet in the room and I expected free WIFI from this type of hotel. Conference participants were given a free code but it only worked in the conference rooms upstairs. There's free WIFI in the lobby.
I stayed in August but it was FREEZING in the hotel, especially upstairs. Seriously, some of the conference participants were wrapped in blankets.

Overall, a good hotel in a good location! I would probably stay here again, though if traveling on my own dime I might try to find something cheaper.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the city!
