“Nice hotel with easy access to DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We got a free upgrade at this hotel for our 3 night stay. It was a lovely big room. The breakfast was ok, room was nice and clean and we liked the little extras like the guest laundry and the vending machines that had nice snacks in them. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore DC on a budget.

“Good alternative to staying in DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Cheaper alternative to staying in DC. No frills but it was clean and met all our needs. Easy & pleasant 1/2 mile walk (one steep flight of stairs) on bike path to metro station. They graciously allowed us to leave car on the property after we checked out for our day trip into DC. If using metro into city I would advise waiting until after morning rush hour unless your into extremely crowded conditions.

“Conveniently located near metro and room is clean and nice.”

Conveniently located, about 10 mins walk to metro. 30 mins drive from Dulles International Airport (if no traffic jam). Nice and quiet neighborhood. Room is clean, big and nice. Double room is good for 4 adults. Breakfast is not bad. Coin laundry machine available. If you like Japanese food, 25 mins walk to 238 West Broad Street, you can have very good for value meal - Maneki Neko Japanese Resturant.

“Exactly What We Looked For!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

While my friend and I were desparately looking for a budget hotel within Washington DC, one of our friends suggested that we can look up hotels in Virginia. We came across this hotel on trip advisor and we were attracted by its amenities and price. This place is a 10 min walk to metro station (if you know the direction). As it was raining on the night of our arrival, it was really dark that we did not know which way to go. Fortunately, there is a bus station right next to the metro station and we asked for directions. With light baggages, we took the Q2 bus from metro station and got off at the third stop. Econo Lodge is right opposite! The staff greeted us when we walked in. Lobby was small but clean and bright. Check in was quick and we were given a room in the basement, right opposite to where the laundry room is. The room was clean and spacious and bright. As we reserved a double room, each bed is enough to occupy 2 persons. The shower was clean and dry. The whole hotel was a non-smoking facility, there was no stinky smell at all!! Though it is the basement floor, my friend and I were not awaken by any noise and we slept soundly for the night. Varieties of breakfast choices: muffins, danish pastry, fruits, cereals, yogurt, and toasts. As the breakfast was served at the small lobby, we brough our food to our comfy room while watching news on the flat screen tv. The staff was friendly and when we asked for direction to metro station, she made sure we knew our way. We later figured out that there was a back road along some houses that leads to the station but it would be dark and a bit dangerous to walk that road at night.

“economical and convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

I've stayed here many times. Rates vary quite a lot, but still a good deal for the DC area. Easy access from Rte. 66 and less than 10 minute walk to Metro. Breakfast is free, but very minimal. No fitness room. Rooms are pleasant, nothing fancy but clean. Good free internet connection. Overall, a good deal for the DC/ Arlington area.
