Property itself is fine. Location is great, with lots of restaurants in walking distance. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Fitness area is a bit dirty, but adequate. Only issue was with staff and amenities of my reservation. Used a prepaid rate that included club access and free internet. I was not given either of these, and had to actually show the written reservation to the staff before they would concede. That is not great service, especially for an elite member in their loyalty program. Disappointing.

Recent reviews here are pretty accurate. The hotel must have undergone a big renovation recently because it looks nearly new. The rooms have a pleasant, contemporary decor with decent lighting, including around the bath mirror; plenty of towels are provided; the bedding really is especially comfortable. The rooms are just bit small. The armchair and reading lamp were crammed into a corner and made it difficult to get to the windowshade chain and thermostat. However, the thermostat didn't seem to do much. I found the room chilly but couldn't make it any warmer. There was a sound of blowing air, even after I set the fan "off." I wonder if this is a form of soundproofing, which is a concern. I could hear the guest next door sneeze. Fortunately, my neighbors were generally quiet. My room may have been empty for a while - there was a strong mildew scent when I checked-in but it went away over time. I couldn't get the clock radio alarm to set; used my cellphone instead. Staff at every level were very nice. Helpful and friendly but not too friendly. Hotel meals were very good during the meeting I attended and efficiently served. I like a hotel that is modern and functional. I don't need cotton puffs, fancy carpets and huge flower arrangements. A short walk to basic shops and the D.C. Metro are among my top priorities. The Westin was a good fit for me.

I have stayed at the Westin Arlington Gateway a number of times and I am always impressed by the quality of the hotel and the quality of service I receive there. My most recent stay was an especially excellent experience. The room was excellent, the service was exceptional and staying there made my business trip much less stressful. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend this hotel to others for business or personal stays. I will certainly be staying there again and will actually look forward to it, which I certainly can't say for every hotel I've stayed at.

I stayed here for work 3 nights and was very happy with everything. Room are nice. Don't order from the late night menu unless you like microwaved items.
