This hotel has one of the best locations, but during my 10 day stay there with my spouse and dog, we got hopefully just a really bad room, but I can NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price you pay, I except a lot better. I'll give the highlights and lowlights:

Positives:
- awesome location
- customer service isn't bad
- free parking, internet and a big space
- the pool looked nice
- good, large balconies

Negatives
- Very dirty. There was mouthwash spit all over the back of the bathroom door, and the pillows, couches and bed just looked bad.
- Lots of stuff was in broken or not adequetly working order. The dryer took FOUR hours to dry clothes. It was at least 20 years old (same as washer). It was almost pointless to do laundry there. Also, the door to the balcony was very hard to open. The toilet also broke on us. As was the garage door to get in and out with your car. That was broken throughout our whole stay so that anyone could drive in and out (or walk in...). They tried to fix stuff and the customer service was very receptive to it, but why try to fix 20+ year old appliances???? Everything was just SOOO old here and half of it didn't really work.
- The breakfast given Monday through Friday was nothing. Literally bagels, muffins, and two other pastries. NOTHING else. Don't be fooled by the free part. It's not worth it.
- The coffee machine was constantly out of any acceptable coffee choices outside of tea and decaf. Again not acceptable.

My wife and I only stayed there as it was in a nice location and we really didn't research this place enough. Now that I wrote this review, hopefully it will make other people think twice about their stay here.

We spent 10 nights at the Oakwood Arlington in July. We are two couples. We had a two bedroom/two bathroom unit, with a large balcany. The apartment was very comfortable. The master bedroom was very large and well appointed. We had the smaller of the two rooms, but it was still very adiquate. There was a TV in the livingroom and in each bedroom. The kitchen was small, but just fine for our needs. I enjoyed sitting out on the balcany every morning watching all the construction going on around the building. They did offer a continental breakfast, but it wasn't much and the room had no A/C - which is important in July! The metro into DC is about a half a mile away... but it is an up hill walk, after a long day of sightseeing in DC! Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay very, very much. I would stay there again.
