“The PITS: Crooked, dirty, cheap, and MISERABLE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

I have had the misfortune to stay at this hotel and must say it was one of the worst travel experiences i have had. The Days Inn (Wyndham) website advertised promotional rates but did not specify the rate required prepayment but only after booking was complete and invoice was received did I find out. As a federal traveler, I cannot prepay so I tried to contact customer support of Days Inn/Wyndham and they said they could do nothing, had to call the property. Called the property and they say Days/Wyndham are lying to me. Now the room, old, dirty, worn out linens and broken window locks. At least the room did not stink.
The GM, Abi Maharra, is a cheap piece of work who could care less if you come back or not. They really, really do not care. He said so himself! Beware.

Room Tip: None of these rooms are worth a penny.

“Worst Hotel/Inn in the US”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

Please do not give this Inn your business. My brother stayed here for part of his vacation and they lost his reservation. His room was noisy and dumpy. The heating system did not work and was ridiculously loud. My complaint was that he stayed there on his birthday and after calling him up and hearing what he had to say about the hotel I wanted to send a gift basket to make his stay more comfortable. I knew he was staying at the Days Inn in Arlington, VA but there are two in the area so I called the one I thought he was staying at (Arlington blvd) and they said he was not staying there. I called the Pentagon Days Inn and they said he was not staying there either (they were really nice BTW). So I called the Days Inn on Arlington blvd AGAIN and told them that he actually was staying there. They looked it up again and he was staying at this hotel. I told them I was having a gift basket delivered and could they put it up in his room when it got there so he could have it when he came back from sightseeing. They said yes, they would do it. So I texted by brother in the morning to see if he received it. Nope. It was never delivered. Surprise surprise. He went down in the morning and it was just sitting behind the front desk. They were rude, yet again to him when he asked if he could have it. This place is a joke with the nastiest people working there. When I called the manager to complain he was very defensive and said they do not deliver things to people's rooms. Then why did they tell me they did in the first place? I just would have texted my brother to let him know to pick something up at the front desk "on his birthday". Things are expensive. People don't take vacations like they used to. This stupid place should appreciate business and not brush people off the phone by telling them what they want to hear. I am disgusted with the service at this Inn.

“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

I stayed here last week for one night with my 7-year-old daughter. The hotel is in no way fancy, but it's great value, and totally adequate as a place to spend the night. We had a room with two double beds on the first floor at the front of the hotel (facing Arlington Blvd). Service was friendly and efficient, the room was clean and functional, the free wireless internet worked without a glitch, and breakfast was good. The location is not quite in central DC but close enough -- twice we took the city bus to Rosslyn Metro (4H/4A), and twice we walked to Court House Metro, a 10-15 minute walk that felt safe even at midnight. What really can't be beat is the price, less than half of what other hotels in Arlington charge on a weeknight (the price difference is smaller on weekends so I'd probably take a hotel that's closer to the Metro). We were out and about all day so we really didn't need anything more than a clean, safe place to spend the night, and this hotel fit the bill perfectly.

“Buyer beware”

Look, all the reviews of this place are harsh (accurate!) so just make your decision knowing this place ain't flash. It's cheap, clean enough and the staff are cheerful.

No idea why, but the cleaners absolutely drenched the room in lemon scent (had to open a door!) and the rooms face a very noisy road. It's nowhere near the monuments/Central DC...but only about a 15$ taxi or free shuttle.

It's not a top spot, but it's cheap and nowhere on earth will cheap buy excellent...so eyes open on these reviews. They're quite on the money...but I expected a VERY ordinary room...and wasn't disappointed!

Room Tip: work harder, earn more money and stay somewhere better.

“A Real Dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

This hotel was without any hesitation the worst hotel my wife and I had ever stayed in.We had planned this visit well in advance. We were led to believe that this hotel had undergone a major multimillion dollar renovation. This is not true. The exterior of the hotel is very old and terribly maintained. The rooms were small and dirty. The bathroom was horrible. The parking lot is scary. Several cars were burgled while we were there. The toilet ran constantly . The shower tiles were peeling. The hotel staff was also rude and unpleasant. The hotel did not recommend the cafe next door,Astor Cafe. The hotel said the food and service were terrible. The hotelmentioned that guests had compained for years that this cafewould make fraudulent charges on our credit cards. We decided to visit as it was next door.It was the only close cafe that was open late. This was a brilliant decision.

Astor Cafe was pleasant. The food and the service was very good. This was the high light of our trip. They were very helpful about the tourist sights and the local area. I do not believe they make fraudulent charges. This hotel was not reputable based on my experience.
