I stayed at this hotel because I have heard some good things about the Kimpton brand and wanted to try something new and got tired of looking at the same boring cookie cutter hotels with all of the traveling I have been doing. This hotel definitely cured me of that was a real treat!

Let me start by saying that they treat you like royalty at this hotel. They make sure everything you need is taken care of from unloading your suitcases to putting water in the room and leaving personal notes and other touches in the room.

The decor of the hotel is AMAZING. Its nothing like the normal boring neutral decor you get at other hotels. Its eclectic and well put together without being obnoxious. The beds are sooo comfortable and quiet. Everything is updated and I even loved the bathrooms.

Then I had the pleasure of eating at Jackson 20 which is their restaurant and the food was delicious!

I can't wait to come back to this and any other Kimpton hotel which I plan to do very soon!

Again, my husband and I booked a Kimpton hotel for an impromptu stay-cation, and again they delivered! We use a free hotel booking service that offers discounts to 4 and 5 star hotels throughut the world (www.SniqueAway.com) and they frequently offer Kimpton hotels for a largely discounted rate.

This hotel is beautiful. We chose the loft suite that was amazing! The main level had a half bath. sleeper sofa, office workspace, and television. Because we were traveling with our puppy, the staff provided a sleeping cusion and bowl for Kane. Really cute.

Upstairs was the full bath with separate jacuzzi tub and shower. The provided Aveda bath products were wonderful.

Also, the property provides an iHome alarm clock that also serves as a way to charge our iPhones, so we never need to bring phone charges when we stay at Kimpton properties. The 2 goldfish we requested were in our room when we arrived and made cute companions during our stay.

Make time to visit Jackson20, the hotel restaurant. They offer an amazing brunch with bottomless mimosas (an additional $12) and the food is delicious. Ask for Dayna - she's a great server.

There is a CVS directly across the street just in case you forget anything from home, but this is a Kimpton hotel so you probably won't need to go. They have all kinds of stuff on hand for times like those.

Never got a chance to visit the spa or exercise facility - we were on vacation after all.

I just got home from a wonderful one nite stay at the Monaco. We arrived just in time for the evening wine reception which was very well run and we enjoyed our wine in the very cozy living room. The service was top notch and special thanks to Jessie for being so warm and accommodating. The rooms were clean and well appointed. I enjoyed the Aveda amenities in the bathrooms. I loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

In December we were burying our Son SSgt Sean Ferguson at Arlington National Cemetary. He died in Badgdad on November 14th. When the hotel staff heard why we were in Alexandria they went out of their way to make our stay and pleasant and as painless as possible under the circumstances.

They bent over backwards to make sure our transportation needs were met. If we needed anything or any information they were johnny on the spot.

The hotel was wonderful and the rooms beautiful. My family will always stay here when we go to Washington. We will be going on for Memorial Day and we will be staying at the
Monaco.
