Let us be clear if you are expecting this to be a top class hotel you will be disappointed. But that is not what it says it is. It is a clean, well appointed motel. It is easy to access Washington DC from here, use the Braddock Road metro station, 5 minutes away. It is excellent for Old town Alexandria, take a walk through the historic streets of Alexandria, see the munitions factory artist colony. But don't say this is a poor hotel. It is what it says it is.

If you are not picky about hotels, the Travelodge Alexandria might be the place for you. Speaking as a non-picky person, I mean that in the nicest possible way. The Travelodge Alexandria gives you a comfortable place to sleep in a good location, within walking distance from old-town Alexandria and the metro. And it's cheaper than practically anywhere else. That's what you get.

Your room will be functional and clean enough, but it will smell strongly of disinfectant and will not be nicely decorated or well maintained. The staff will not be friendly and the continental breakfast will not be good. If you are OK with these things, the Alexandria Travelodge is a good option.

Wife smokes and we had an old room without fridge and microwave. The non-smoking rooms had much nicer facilities and more space. However the staff were excellent and the breakfast, whilst basic, was all we wanted. Easy to walk around Old Alexandria from the hotel and a short walk to the Metro which was also a bonus. Would come back but ask for a non-smoking room!

I Stayed here for 4 days. It is an older motel, no modern conveniences such as WIFI or HIdef TV, but the room has 2 queen size beds which are very comfortable. There are a lot of television stations to watch. The A/C is great. The motel is very very quiet. There is a breakfast lay out in the morning, but it is not worth it. Its better to walk a block down the street to Starbucks and have real coffee and a real breakfast. The maids who clean up the rooms are friendly and do a great job. For the money, and they gave a senior rate, it was a good deal.
