Incredible value. Rooms are clean, recently furnished, with a big fridge/freezer, coffee maker, microwave, iron and board, hairdryer. Bathrooms are a little old, but clean and OK. Backside is quiet, overlooking a pool with a lot of birds in the trees. You can walk to Huntington Metro station in 10 minutes if you know the shortcut, 15 if not, or they will drive you (free to go there, $5 to pick you up). Wireless strong. Continental breakfast fine. Staff friendly. Price is right. For people wanting to visit DC on a budget, based around Metro, this is a real find

I looked for month's for a good prices hotel for my family's vacation for six days. I was worried and hesitant when I booked here based on past reviews. When we arrived the outside was a bit dated. I got to my room where everything I was looking for in a room was there.....refrig, mico and a crib and a nice clean room. I was very happy. The staff was accommodating and my stay couldn't have been better. On some days we drove in to Washington other days we took the metro. Not walking distance to the metro so had to pay 4.25 for parking and some of the places we went were a bit costly based on three vs paying for parking in Washington on the street. We will definetely be back. There is so much to do couldn't do it all in one week.

The price is good, so there is not much to complain about....
Yet there are some important things you should pay attention to:

1. It is NOT CLOSE TO THE METRO! The hotel provides a shuttle to the metro in huntington, which is very convenient, but it is available at 8:00 am to 8:00 pm only. There is also a bus that arrives any 20-30 min.

2. Some non-smoking rooms have a bad smell of cigarettes...

3. The breakfast is pretty lame.

I have to admit that the service was good, and that the rooms were pretty clean...

During the last week in August 2011, I took my 17 and 11 year old boys on a trip and excursion of Washington D. C. We spent three days at the Days Inn located at 6100 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, Virginia.

Our room was clean and tidy. My son complained that the toilet tank was leaking on the washroom floor, but I explained to him that we were only staying for three nights and not purchasing the hotel!

The price was right and you really get what you pay for! The hotel staff was very professional and friendly. The breakfast was O.K. and saved me a substantial amount of cash if the three of us had to eat elsewhere. The beds were comfortable and we did not encounter any problems. This is a dated hotel, but overall, we felt safe and enjoyed our stay.

Location wise, we were very close to the major attractions in Washington D.C. The cost of the hotel room was very reasonable and should we travel this way again, we would most likely stay at the Days Inn.
