“Awesome stay - great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2012 NEW

We stayed here for five nights May 2012. We were visiting relatives, two of which are in the Airforce and stationed at the Pentagon. The service was exceptional. While checking in I let the front desk know that I had two separate rentals, one for 4 nights with a two bedroom and one for 2 nights in a one bedroom. They were gracious enough to allow us to stay in the two bedroom the entire stay.

Location, location, location:
Right behind the timeshare is the Metro. The Metro in D.C pretty much connects to all the major tourist stops so no need for a car. The trains were never crowded and for the most part came timely. Once we figured how to buy train fare tickets it got easier.

Old Town Alexandria is on King street, same location as the timeshare so you could walk to many shops and restaurants.

We took in a show at Medieval madness, no way as nice as the other Medieval shows we've seen in the past but it was okay. We also ate at Joe Theismann's restaurant which was quite enjoyable.

If you are headed to DC, try to book a tour at the Pentagon. Quite an impressive place and they bring you through the Memorial chapel in recognition of the casualties from 9/11, a humbling experience.

Room Tip: We had rooms 503 and 504, awesome

“Awesome staff and awesome experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2012

My boss gave me the gift of a week in this timeshare. I took my mother, sister, aunt and neighbor. We had a 2 bedroom deluxe unit. It had a 8 seat dining table, full kitchen, and 2 baths. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was well stocked for our stay. We changed towels by calling a very friendly front desk and they would immediatley deliver them to our room. There were serveral activities and we participated in a couple. Everytime we ran into an employee they would greet you very friendly and there was a 24 hour gift shop stocked with munchies and personal items. The metro is right behind but I rarely heard it. Loved my experience and hope to experience it again.

“Great Location for DC Travel”

First the staff is great everyone was very helpful and friendly. The location was very convenient next to the Metro. I did not like our room we did not have a bath tub, only one mirror and it was in the bathroom and our room was like a studio even though we had a bedroom. It was also right next to the Metro. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 pm because of our flight. Their convenience store did not have diet beverages, milk. sandwiches or anything to eat other than snacks. We went next door to the Hilton hotel to get refreshments they were open until 11:30 pm JR was one of the nicest persons at the hotel he went out of his way to accomadate us with our tours, dinner reservations, etc.

Room Tip: Do not get a room close to the Metro.

“April in old towne and DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2012

An easy jaunt from the metro to the resort. Pleasant check in even though my flight was late getting in to National/Regan, Easy walk to supermarket for food plus numerous restaurants of all kinds close by. Sitting in for the professional yet rather aggressive sales pitch to buy more,"inventory," was tedious. My room was large, comfortable and well maintained. The staff was polite and friendly. Location is unbeatable. Will stay there again in May and June.

“Great location, typical Wyndham property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2012

This property is ideally located right next to the Metro station, which connects directly with the airport and anywhere else in town you want to go. The rate is $1.85 per person during non peak hours, which start at 9:30 am. Its double the price during peak hours. Other reviews complained about train noise, but we were on the rear of the fourth floor and heard nothing our entire stay. You can walk or take the free trolley anywhere on King Street, and its worth it. Lots of restaurants and little boutiques line the road. The trolley stop is right across the street from the property. The property itself is typically outfitted in Wyndham style and is well appointed. However, like the last property we stayed at last fall (New Orleans) the unit was obviously cleaned by the housekeeping staff before our arrival because the smell of bleach was overpowering. However, the unit was in need of "spring cleaning" - there were stains on the carpeting that needed to be professionally cleaned, and some of the furniture has seen better days. The timeshare sales pitch is very strong at every turn, but if you consistently ignore the phone calls at 9:30 am and politely decline their "survey" which is their sales pitch, you will be fine. The concierge set us up with a night tour of DC by bus. We had expected it to be like the red hop on/hop off tours in most cities, but it wasnt. The driver, though well informed and helpful, would drop you off at an attraction and leave you there for 30 minutes or so. You could stay on the bus if you wanted, but you'd just sit there. This is one activity I wouldnt repeat. I'd stick to the red bus tour. All in all, the property is nice (think Marriott), the location is perfect, and there is lots to do in the area. No car needed esp because parking in the city is difficult.

Room Tip: Ask for the rear of the fourth floor - no noise!
