We stayed here for five nights May 2012. We were visiting relatives, two of which are in the Airforce and stationed at the Pentagon. The service was exceptional. While checking in I let the front desk know that I had two separate rentals, one for 4 nights with a two bedroom and one for 2 nights in a one bedroom. They were gracious enough to allow us to stay in the two bedroom the entire stay.
Location, location, location:
Right behind the timeshare is the Metro. The Metro in D.C pretty much connects to all the major tourist stops so no need for a car. The trains were never crowded and for the most part came timely. Once we figured how to buy train fare tickets it got easier.
Old Town Alexandria is on King street, same location as the timeshare so you could walk to many shops and restaurants.
We took in a show at Medieval madness, no way as nice as the other Medieval shows we've seen in the past but it was okay. We also ate at Joe Theismann's restaurant which was quite enjoyable.
If you are headed to DC, try to book a tour at the Pentagon. Quite an impressive place and they bring you through the Memorial chapel in recognition of the casualties from 9/11, a humbling experience.
