There are three things I look for a hotel, WIFI, breakfast and either parking or accessible transport. The location was the preeminent reason for my week's stay here as It was only a five to seven minute walk to the metro. Old town Alexandria is an easy walkable area with good restaurants and small boutique stores. There is also a good pita place and dunkin doughnuts next door. We did not use the parking facilities. The breakfast was good and did offer a limited but good selection. On some evenings, the desk had cookies for the guests, however toward the end of my stay, they were not available. The majority of the desk personnel were helpful tho the night crew did not seem as helpful as the day crew. The first evening, we found the tv was not working properly, we advised the desk and were told it would be dealt with the next day. it was not, once the day crew was advised, the tv was working properly the next day. The room was a standard double room tho it did not have a mini fridge or microwave like many Hampton's I have visited. We had the desk store some cheesecake for us and they were happy to do so. Overall, it was a good stay. It was the least expensive hotel, I could find in the area and would stay there again. The hotel is showing its age and the rooms need some updating. The beds were comfortable. There is also a free King St. Trolley which runs the length of King St and will take you too the metro station as well as the riverfront.
