The Lorien carries the theme of quiet relaxation throughout the facility, from the courtyard to the lobby to your room to the fitness center and spa. Their staff are grownups, who do more than recite a script. They look for ways to make your stay pleasant. Best bed I've slept on in a hotel all year. The attached Brabo restaurant is top notch in the kitchen and in the dining room - it's reason to go there.

I stayed for a delightful 6 days at Lorien Hotel and Spa. There are many wonderful things that can be said about the Lorien, but the what stands out most is their outstanding staff! They are very friendly and truly make you feel welcome. They will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable (regardless of how you booked the hotel). I am a chatter, and they seemed to be very happy to chat along. :) Particularly helpful, friendly and generous were Omar and Tiffany. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

The beds and pillows are very comfortable.
The wine receptions are delightful and generous, with plenty of wine and during my stay delicious pizza from Brabo (prosciutto and fresh mozzarella, e.g.).
The coffee was also delicious, but the Keurig in-room coffee maker is an option if you want to sleep in.
They offer various amenities if you need your room more humid or forgot an item.
If you sign up as a Kimpton In-Touch member (free) you will get free internet access at all Kimptons, and you can raid the bar for an extra $10 treat per stay.
The Brabo restaurant with a friend was also delicious: Sitka venison and cardamaro manhattan = yummy.
The fire pit outside in an inner courtyard is lovely! It looks larger-than-life due to very strategically-placed mirrors. Thankfully this February wasn't too cold to enjoy this feature!
I wouldn't hesitate to refer friends and family, and I certainly hope to return. Bravo, Lorien!

I stayed at the Lorien Hotel during one of their winter getaway deals for Kimpton In Touch members. I have always been impressed by Kimpton hotels, but this time they outdid themselves. From the time I was greeted at the front desk to the time I walked out it was fabulous. The staff was attentive, the little perks for being an In Touch member are great (raid the minibar! yes!) and I love the wine happy hour they do(I had a hot toddy instead, equally yummy). The food from Brabo is fantastic, and the room that I had was more than I had expected. I chose a terrace room. The terrace ended up being a HUGE terrace(trust me, it's worth the upgrade) and the room itself was nice too:). I love their bathrooms, with the giant claw foot tub and the big shower head. The staff was prompt and helpful when I had questions as well. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my stay at the Lorien, and can't wait til I'm back!

My wife and I did an overnighter on 2/4/12. We had stayed here before and have always enjoyed the experience. The place is great and the staff is topnotch. The evening wine reception is a real plus. The night we were there I got on the internet for a wonderful price. We will return.
