I have stayed in the hotel several times over the past five years. Bill the bartender is the best bartender I have ever seen. Although I have a choice of where to stay in Alexandria, Bill is the reason I always come back to the Holiday Inn on First Street. Bill knows what he is doing behind the bar, he is always on top of the service and ensures everything is just right. He is true value added to the hotel and reason I keep coming back.

Additionally, Alex who works at the front desk is clearly your best representative. He is always helpful and very knowledgeable about everything in the hotel. He makes a great first impression for your business and eptiomizes what hospitality is all about. He has all the traits I look for when I am hiring someone.

Alicia and Amelsa both provide excellent service every morning at breakfast...both help to make a good start to the day.

The hotel is close to my office so often stop by when traffic is bad as well as recommending it to clients and friends when they visit the area. The location makes it great for those visiting or working in DC or at the Pentagon without the hassle or cost of being directly in DC. The staff go out of there way to make sure you are taken care of and there's an easy shuttle to DCA and the metro. As for the bar the atmosphere is always friendly and Bill runs it perfectly making sure that all orders are taken care of while maintaining friendly conversation. He also goes out of his way to make sure special order requests are followed to a T. Marlena is also a gem when working the bar.

I have had several meetings at this hotel over the past three years. We all head for the bar at the end of the day and Bill keeps our group well served. Not only does he know what everyone is drinking but seems to arrive at just the right moment for refills. As someone who lives in the area, it is also a pleasure to stop in after work to have a few friendly drinks when Bill is on duty.

This hotel is not only in a great location, but the customer service is also great. I stay here often when in DC. Alex at the front desk, and Bill behind the bar offer consistent and outstanding customer service. If you have ice cream Bill will ensure it remains frozen while you finish your beer. Alex is consistently polite and helpful with whatever you need.
