My family stayed at the Comfort Suites while visiting my grandmother. The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the pillows were great even asked if I could purchase one. There are plenty of great places to eat in Abingdon. There was a nice variety for breakfast which was part of the room rate. A very convenient location my family plans on staying here again when returning to the area.

For the rate, we certainly expected more. The clerk who checked us in was not friendly and never smiled during the process. When we arrived in the room, it was hot, the bathroom looked old and dirty, and the "suite" wasn't even really a suite; just a small partition with a very small sofa pushed against it. The breakfast was one of the worse we've had; terrible gravy and eggs.

We were going to stop at the Comfort Inn (less expensive) at the same exit but "Help Wanted" sign ran us off. Went 1 block down road to Comfort Suites. Bedspread visbly stained, breakfast disgusting. Way too expensive for this lack of quality.

The hotel itself was adequate, but the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. The room was adequately clean, but the hallways were not. Our room, which was supposed to be non-smoking, reeked of smoke when we checked in. We were not supplied with wash cloths. The breakfast was not what we were expecting. The orange juice was so watered down I wondered if there was any juice in it. The "eggs" were cold disks that were very unappetzing. They did have a waffle maker, but there was only one, so there was always a line to use it. We were charged a dollar a day for a "safe fee." They did take the charge off when I complained, but I have never seen such a fee before. I had no complaints about the friendliness of the employees....I just felt like the hotel was sub-par and I would not choose this hotel again. I am usually just looking for a basic hotel, but I would be willing to pay a little more for a nicer experience.
