This place is great! The room is clean and spacious.The rates are reasonable. It even has chairs outside. You are able to sit outside and watch the sunrise over the mountains!

I stayed at the Alpine Motel during a trip to Abingdon to see a play at the Barter Theater. The motel is a 1950's style brick one story motel with lawn chairs outside the rooms and a beautiful view of the mountains. The motel felt secluded even though it was near the highway. The room was very large and included a microwave and small refrigerator. The beds were not quite as firm as I would have liked, but I still managed to get a good night's sleep. The walls were thick and fairly soundproof. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired and consisted of two types of cold cereal and packaged sweet rolls. Coffee was available in the office, but there were no coffee makers in the rooms. There was no hair drier or complimentary shampoos. The room included free Wi-Fi and cable TV. The room rate was good value for the money and there were plenty of non-smoking rooms. The motel is near the Appalachian and Virginia Creeper Trails. There are good restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay there again.

After a poor experience at the Days Inn up the street, I decided to go with what had been my original plan and stay at the Alpine. We were very pleasantly surprised at how accommodating they were at 10 pm. This place had to have been built in the 50's but has obviously been well maintained. Marking lot was freshly paved and large lawn was lus green and freshly cut. Lawn chairs out front that you can carry to the lawn and take in the beautiful view. I can be picky about cleanliness an MAN was this place clean! Everything worked and the a/c and fridge were new and much nicer than what you would find at most places. At $66 after tax this place was an absolute pleasure. We plan to come back here next summer when we visit just because it was such a neat little experience and so clean. I absolutely love this motel.

Motel is a 50's type strip motel....bottle opener still on the bathroom wall. Large room. Missed the panoramic mountain view described by a previous reviewer. Four of the six lightbulbs above the sink were either burned out or missing. Musty. Desk clerk not overly accommodating. Best feature was the low price....$59.00/night. Easy exit to highway. Quiet.
