This lodge is only 100 feet from the chair lift. It has a rustic feel to it.. One big dining room surrounded by windows to look out. One bar.

For $250 a night you get a room and breakfast and dinner are included. Its a good deal.

of course you must remember,Alta's motto is "its all about the skiing." The people at this lodge are serious skiers and salt of the earth outdoors types. There is no disco and no french restaurant here , folks!

We stay at Goldminers whenever we go to Alta which is almost every year. Rooms are so-so but the staff, restaruant and location more than make up for those shortcomings. Ski in/ski out, ski shop, gift shop, cafe, bar, afternoon tea, gourmet restaurant, game room, hot tub, spa for massages and mani/pedi's! Fireplace and free wifi in the lobby.

Amazing location. Very good snow. Basic clean facilities. Great massage therapist on site. Food basic and good. This is a food included hotel. Can make special requests, ie large salads. This type of resort is an old school resort. run by ski bums. Support the small ind businesses !!! No reason to rent a car. Take shuttle from airport. Kids can go to ski school or there is on site child care available. Go and have a blast. You will not be sorry.

A friend of mine and I stayed at Goldminer's Daughter last week for four nights and it was great. Very convenient location right next to the Collins lift, and good food at the inclusive breakfast and dinner. Also enjoyed the indoor hot tub, game room, and spa for a massage. The staff was the friendlest I've ever experienced, always willing to help with a caring attitude. Some other posts complain about the room you get for the money, but for a ski in/out, $350/night for a double including breakfast and dinner is good. If you find something better in Alta for less let me know!
