“Good Hotel--Good Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I stay here when i travel to austin probably 8 to 10 times in the past year. All my stays have been at the price of about 46 to 48 dollar range. These have been one night stays. They are very consistent withe the service and cleanliness of the hotel.Rooms have large flat screen tv's, rooms have fridge, microwave, iron and boards and towels are nice and clean. Beds are nice and comfortable whether it is king or double.Sometimes my 14 year travels with me and he enjoys the tv plus the wifi connection. They also have computers availble in the lobby.Breakfast is basic with cereals, juices, and coffee. If you need anything ask the staff and im sure they will try their best to help you. This is an older property but they really keep it up very well.

“I'm picky and found my 7 day stay great.”

I stayed here one night and was pleased, but then got a killer discount at a much more pricier place. I couldn't tell a difference other than the room is smaller. After my stay elsewhere (on lengthy business trip) I returned here for a week stay. Everything is up to date, very clean (coming from a germ phobe) and the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and soo nice. At $44 a night it's comparable to a $80 place. Only downside is it isn't easy to find and the entrance sign is tiny. If you're looking for a good deal, value modernity and cleanliness forget the red roof. It's by tons of restaurants and only a few miles from downtown action. The flat screen, pristine frig and microwave is a bonus as well as daily breakfast and by breakfast I'm talking waffles!

“Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

We stayed here 4 nights as we explored Austin on our Thanksgiving vacation. I was most impressed with the service here. The attendant went out of his way to help us with printing our boarding passes for departure. Another xeroxed information for us about local museums. Another made sure we had change and detergent for washing our clothes that were caked in mud from caving in the area. The location has lots of restaurants nearby. The room was nice with a large flat screen, refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast started at 6 and ended at 10 with a very ample breakfast provided. The hotel is situated right on the corner of 183 and 35 which is convenient once you figure out how to get in and out of the hotel. But it is one way on each side of the hotel so we had to go around the block most times coming to the hotel. We liked the wifi and the option for computers in the lobby. We'd definitely stay here again.

“Mixed bag....pros and cons”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

This room was booked for me for a business stay. I know they paid under $50 a night for the room so I am taking that into account with this room. For the location close to 35 and less than 8 miles from downtown it would work for a stay. The staff/management were incredibly helpful during my stay. I was a little worried after reading the previous reviews and I have say there were no uninvited visitors (bugs) in my room. In fact, the area with the bed and television were nice and clean. The facility is in fact an older hotel so keep that in mind if you are planning a stay. I mention this because the hallways are "graduated" with small staircases you must climb or go down to get to rooms further down the hallway. There is one small elevator and ice machines/vending areas located on a few levels of the hotel. My stay included the continental breakfast which was extremely basic (bagels, pastries, muffins, waffles, fruit, and coffee). The fitness room has an elliptical machine, treadmill, recumbent bike, and weight machine....it would help if there was a fan in the room.

The cons include very thin walls/ceilings which made it very difficult to sleep during my stay due to loud guests. Bathroom was in need of repairs and cleaning in the room I stayed in.

All in all the location was good for my stay and the staff were all very nice and helpful.

“Days Inn Garbage Dump!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Pros: It's a place to sleep and close to downtown.

Cons: Old hotel and a major dump. I was charged $79 a night for two night on business to stay here and I could honestly say this is the worse hotel I have stayed in EVER. The computers in the lobby are really really slow, the elevator is an antique and the hallways smell like garbage and the place looks like if Jackie Chan kicked it, it would fall down. The breakfast is trash, the bed sheets are like having none, the toilet handle has to be held to flush the toilet and the air conditioner stinks. The bed is like a trampoline, every which way you move on it, you bounce. The noise from two rooms away can be heard as I never got any sleep in the two nights I was there due to young idiots checking in at 2 am.

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs. Even $30 is too much.
