Mi Yard was the perfect place for me to stay while in Austin for a week-long business trip. Ed was lovely and helpful - the morning paper on the kitchen island was a very nice touch - the surroundings quiet and beautiful (an amazing view of the city skyline at night from the top-floor balcony), it was an easy drive to the thick of city life, they provided dependable wireless internet (a must for me), comfortable funky rooms (w/ excellent A/C during the pressing heat), privacy, and a well stocked fridge-full of water, drinks, breakfast burritos, fruit, etc.

There were plentiful granola bars throughout the house, thoughtful toiletries in the bathroom, a good supply of brochures & information on exploring the city, great media center in the upstairs common room...etc. etc.

They have won a long-time customer in me; I'll return for more casual vacation trips as well as when I'm in the area on business.

The only caveat I would offer a traveler is that if you come to Austin hoping for the traditional B&B experience, hands-on service, and hot breakfasts you won't find it here - but Mi Yard makes that clear, and staying there was a fantastic experience - the perfect place to return to after a long day.

All my wishes for their continued and growing success...they're a very new B&B, but will soon become a destination-in-demand.

We found this place through Craigslist and boy are we glad we did!

Simple and comfortable, the B&B was decorated in bright cheery colors and tons of light flooded the house making us feel like we really could be in the islands. We stayed downstairs in the Kingston suite and had private access to the room through French doors that led outside. This was nice as we felt like we weren't bothering anyone when we came home from downtown
pretty late and we could slip out of our room in our swimsuit to hit the hottub without walking through the house.

We were a little suprised that the innkeeper didn't make breakfast but did leave us the stuff to make it ourself in the morning (We made ourselves breakfast tacos! And we were actually happy not have to abide by someone else's schedule on OUR vacation). He also was sweet enough to show us the
bus line and even rode with us downtown to show us the local hotspots. Talk about service!

Thanks Mi Yard, we're looking forward to our next visit! And this time we're bringing friends.
