The bed was like concrete and also small, the TV was as small as a toaster, the rooms not updated and stark white made it look like a prison. We left for another hotel after one night. It just wasn't nice enough for us. It was clean, however.

This hotel was formerly a good value, prices just jumped considerably. Weekly stays might still be a value. Expect small, tube type TVs, no lobby per se, thin sheets, just the basics. Location is good, and easily accessible.

After a nightmarish experience with roaches at the Studio 6 I checked reviews for another extended stay hotel in Austin of comparable price. My first stay was in November 2010 and the room was clean, the staff was very friendly, the laundry room was nice and we were satisfied. The stay was actually great and I ended up staying another 3 days.

I was planning another stay after Christmas through New Years so while there in November I booked a week for the following month. The room we stayed in the second time was a bit more rundown. The toilet leaked and there was always a puddle near the toilet that we kept a towel on. The refrigerator door would not stay shut so we had purchased a gallon of water and used that to put in front of the door (told the staff about it but never had anyone come and check it out). We noticed an odor like urine and at first assumed it was the leaking toilet. It turned out it was the mattress! When the maid came by I asked for a clean mattress pad and sheets and blanket and she was happy to change them for me. This did not take care of the urine odor, it was actually IN the mattress. Since there were no available rooms we sprayed the mattress daily with perfume and my boyfriend invaded my side of the bed (which I can't complain about). The only other problem is that the heater/air conditioner didn't work. The weather actually was nice the week I stayed and I didn't need either so I informed the front desk upon checkout along with reminding them of the refrigerator door and the smelly mattress. The staff said "you should have told us, we could have moved you the last few days of your stay!" Oh well, lol.

I am not a person who expects a cheap place to be a quality place so all of this was not a big deal. If you expect a quality place and quality neighbors then you may want to stay somewhere else. No roaches here like the Studio 6, so I will stay here again when I go back to Austin.

By the way, I read the review someone left about bed bugs at this hotel. When I checked reviews in November I saw that the Marriott (which costs nearly 5 times what this place costs a night) had bed bugs. Bed bugs are a huge problem the last few years and many expensive hotels all over the country are infested with them. I am to the point where I check drawers and cabinets for roaches and inspect the mattresses for bed bugs now. I have to add that now I will be smelling mattresses too, ick.

CANNOT believe this! I booked on the phone @ choice hotels for 4/20 for 5 nights and reservation was to be paid for the first night ONLY cause it was late arrival, and the hotel location office closes @ 11,and i would not arrive until 3-4AM so i was gonna pay cash 4/21 for the rest of the stay.THIS WAS ALSO NOTED WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION
Before i even arrived on 4/20 they took it upon themselves to charge 241.45 THEN they said 2 guys show up and they charge me another 155.22, for total 396.67! NO ID, NO credit card, NO Signature!
I find this out the next AM when i go to pay. The next day 4/21 first thing in the AM i confronted and choice was great to work with but Ron --, the area mgr for this location finally calls me back at 2:00 screaming that ists not his problem and that he had every right to chage my card cause 2 guys came in.. Umm, Hello? REALLY?? They showed NO ID, they did not have my credit card, nothing.. Then he HUNG UP on me telling me yeah 2 guys came in and charged the room.. OK girl taveling alone, so 2 guys show up & they charge my card?? DO NOT use this hotel the staff is RUDE, and they dont care AT ALL as long as they can over charge you. Contacted local BBB And consumer affairs as well as local news- UNREAL! to have the upper mgmt hang up on me when confronted because they allowed 400.00 in cahrges with no id, no credit card, no sigatnure and NOT authorized by me? Really? WOW! STAY FAR AWAY from this hotel! they ended up refunding it,**NEVER APOLOGIZED** but will take 3-7 days, so im out 400.00 cause of their screw up and allowing 2 guys so they say, which is hard because we never arrived until 3 AM so how did we show up the night before and walk in and charge the room? Lets ad.. NO ONE showed ANY ID or my credit card, NO ONE signed, they just allowed the hotel staff to OVER charge my card.also to add the 5 days would have been 241.45, so how did they end up charging 241.45 plus another 155.22?? for what? How? WOW! cant say how much this place rips you off!
