“Great place for a corporate training”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Really nice place. Did a four day training session and found the accommodations to be top notch. The catered food was well prepared, of sufficient variety, and they took the effort of marking gluten free and vegan dishes, of which there were plenty. The bar/restaurant downstairs (Gabriel's) was nice enough, as hotel bar/restaurants go. I had some food that was luke warm and some infused vodka that had lost its infusion (recycled fruit?), but for the most part, more than adequate. And it's about a $6 cab ride to downtown Austin (6th Street) so there's plenty to do nearby (unlike a lot of other corporate training sites…I'm talking to you, Q Center). The rooms were very nicely appointed, clean, comfortable, and modern. Sheets were of high quality and the mattress was firm. Front desk staff was downright excellent. Every interaction (even at 3AM) was pleasant and professional, even enthusiastic. In all, I'd recommend it highly.

Room Tip: The balconies off of some of the suites are glorious; you can see the capital, the stadium, and ever...

“Good experience in a clean, well done atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We attended a private event at the AT & T Center in one of the ballrooms on a Tuesday night. The ballroom was very nice, decorated well. The wait staff was attentive and courteous, although they picked a nerve when they served some of the men at the table before the ladies.

Good experience in a clean, well done atmosphere.

“SharePoint Saturday Conference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Really enjoyed my stay here. Great hotel with a classy restaurant and bar on the 1st level. Excellent for UT and not far (just North) to downtown Austin.

Front desk assisted with my pre-flight check-in, seat selections on American Airlines and printed tickets.

Use of the Business Center computers are a small fee; free wi-fi for those that bring their own devices.

Parking $14 for all day.

“Very Nice, Great Service, But...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

...paying more to avoid a Murphy bed? Not fitting for a four-star establishment, particularly one this size. I agree with the reviewer who said it's "more of a conference center that happens to have a hotel, than a hotel that can host conferences..."

This is a physically nice, well-kept facility, and the service we received at the front desk, valet, and restaurant was great. What this hotel lacks, honestly, is that touch of charm that one starts to look for in accomodations in the four-star and up catagories. It is clean, decorated with a modern edge befitting it's patronage, and it is comfortable. For us, it was also conveniently located, as we were attending a TU basketball game. We walked everywhere once we'd arrived.

However, for this amount of money, plus over $20 to park our car overnight...staying here is probably not worth the price. The bath/toilet area was undersized, and the sliding door between it and the sink/vanity wouldn't close completely. The shared balcony was expansive, and the chairs out there were comfortable. (We had a "Standard King" room on the 6th floor, facing the museum.)

They didn't deliver us the promised cookies that evening, which was weird, since we saw the ladies with them on their cart as we went out...not a critical feature, of course, but not something you'd expect to happen at a hotel where your spending $200 per night for your standard room.

We will probably try a different hotel the next time we're in Austin.

Room Tip: We were in the tower in the 6th floor. It was quiet, and the view, while not spectacular, was inter...
