It has been about a year since I traveled to Austin on a regular basis for work. I recently started again, and right away thought to come back to this location. Several years after it opened it is still a great choice. It is still spotless.
Upon pulling into the parking lot you can tell that the hotel is well maintained. The hotel is in a mixed use Hotel / Office complex with several hotels, a 24 hour fitness, and an office building. The lobby is in great condition and very welcoming. On the first floor is the breakfast and dinner restaurant / bar. Also there is a very nice business center with two PC's, a copier, printer, etc. There is also a guest laundry facility, nice swimming pool, and hot tub. The staff was very welcoming, and the breakfast was well prepared.
There is an adequate exercise room, though I was very surprised that it lacked an exercise bicycle. There are two treadmills, an elliptical, and some weights. The equipment does have TV's built into them, which is nice. The real bonus at this hotel from the standpoint of exercise is the 3/4 mile pea gravel and cobble path that winds around a retaining pond with nice trees, water grass, park benches, lights, etc.. I go out and do runs on the path and while it was not Town Lake it was still great and it was right out the back door of the hotel!
My room was a typical King room with a nice work desk, ergonomic chair, sleep number bed, (I am not a fan of the sleep number, but thats a different conversation), some have a sleeper sofa and alll have shower. If a bathtub is important to you, you may want to inquire with the hotel, as the room was in only had a shower. (which I actually prefer.) Rooms have a microwave and refrigerator and a comfortable climate control system. Room was spotless, smelled fresh and had nice pillows, though I had to ask for a foam pillow they found me one quickly. The curtains do an excellent job of blocking out light, the climate control works well and teh AC blower can be left on for white noise. The rooms have nice LCD TV's and an acceptable numbe of channels.
The cookies in the evening were a nice touch and the breakfast was well done....free for gold or diamond members, something like $12 for others.
