We got this hotel room from Priceline for $30 on 1/28/12. As soon as I saw this hotel I'd never heard about before, i came straight to TripAdvisor to find out more about it and was horrified to read all the mixed reviews. Not being able to cancel since we got it on Priceline, I convinced myself that it would be fine since we would only be there for the night and only to sleep.
I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, it is next to a Strip Club, but not right next door to it... it's about a block away, so no noise. The office closes at 11pm, but we had already called to let them know we would check it later. The nice gentlemen informed me the office closed at 11pm, but if we get there later, we can pick up the phone immediately inside the front doors and it will ring the night manager to come check us in.
Our room was toward the front of the property, just 2 buildings away from the main office building; upstairs, and it faced the parking area. I was glad our room faced the parking area; I didn't feel 100% safe. But that would be due to the party that another room was having in the next building. There were young people showing up with alcohol and looking for the party. They didn't make too much noise (at least we couldn't hear it), and we were so tired, we fell asleep quickly anyways.
Everyone else's reviews are right - the rooms are quite outdated, but it served our purpose. It was a large 'suite'; the bedroom was large, and the bed was firm, but we found it quite comfortable. Six large, fluffy pillows and a comfortable duvet. The entire suite was clean, but no large flat screen tv's, just small 19" tv's... with many channels though.
The people at the front desk when we checked in and checked out were nice. There was no complimentary breakfast on Saturday morning though, which is a little odd, since you would think that would be a busy time and they would do breakfast.
I think we may go back again... next time, I want to try the property right on Lake Travis. We take a couple trip every year and this would be a good place to stay, with the full kitchenette and the large living room area. The regular price is over $100.. I don't think we'd pay that much to stay here, but for the $30 we spent, it was well worth it.
If you stay here, definately call ahead and ask for a room facing a parking area and near the office area in the front. Location was near many things, outdated, but clean and the people were very friendly.
Room Tip: Upstairs toward the front the complex, facing the parking area
