“Great Value and Green!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Very impressed with our stay! Loved the eco friendly emphasis. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with a selection of pancakes, eggs, biscuits, gravy and cold items, also organic coffee. Loved the afternoon free happy hour with munchies (could make a meal on it) with free wine and beer, even Shiner beer was free. Beds very comfortable and loved the suite with separate living room. Only paid $71.00/night which was a great deal! Check out Black Star Brewery up the road for great dinner and beer.

“Very happy with Habitat Suites in Austin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Beautiful landscaping! The suites have a comfy king bed, living room, kitchen (with a full size refridgerator). The complimentary breakfast was awesome (fresh fruit, sauteed vegetables, eggs-free range, coffee -fair trade, groats, and MUCH more). They use non-toxic cleaning products in the suites, have potted plants, and gorgeous watercolor pictures of the Hill Country. Inside the suite I didn't hear any highway noise. All the staff we met were cordial and helpful. I was pleased with price (roughly $100 night ) and will stay here again and again. I really liked this place and give kudoos to the owners for their efforts in being environmentally attentive on several points.

“Great hotel, great price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Last-minute reservation got us a beautiful King Suite for $60 on Priceline. Looks more like a long-term stay facility, but could NOT have been more comfortable. Villa-type rooms with a full kitchen, living room area, and bedroom/bathroom area. Clean, nicely decorated, beautifully landscaped, and incredibly quiet. They offer happy hour in their meeting room from 5 to 7 pm with free wine, beer, sodas, and light snacks, as well as one of the best hot breakfast buffets I've had in years. Locally-grown and organic products - there's something for everyone. Helpful front desk staff, beautiful pool/patio area with a grill. Gardens on-site with produce (seasonal). Don't let the fact that it's next to "Sugar's" (look it up) turn you away. It's far enough where you can't see or hear anything except the peaceful environment on-site at Habitat's facility. Definitely recommend.

“Good deal from Priceline”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We got this hotel room from Priceline for $30 on 1/28/12. As soon as I saw this hotel I'd never heard about before, i came straight to TripAdvisor to find out more about it and was horrified to read all the mixed reviews. Not being able to cancel since we got it on Priceline, I convinced myself that it would be fine since we would only be there for the night and only to sleep.

I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, it is next to a Strip Club, but not right next door to it... it's about a block away, so no noise. The office closes at 11pm, but we had already called to let them know we would check it later. The nice gentlemen informed me the office closed at 11pm, but if we get there later, we can pick up the phone immediately inside the front doors and it will ring the night manager to come check us in.

Our room was toward the front of the property, just 2 buildings away from the main office building; upstairs, and it faced the parking area. I was glad our room faced the parking area; I didn't feel 100% safe. But that would be due to the party that another room was having in the next building. There were young people showing up with alcohol and looking for the party. They didn't make too much noise (at least we couldn't hear it), and we were so tired, we fell asleep quickly anyways.

Everyone else's reviews are right - the rooms are quite outdated, but it served our purpose. It was a large 'suite'; the bedroom was large, and the bed was firm, but we found it quite comfortable. Six large, fluffy pillows and a comfortable duvet. The entire suite was clean, but no large flat screen tv's, just small 19" tv's... with many channels though.

The people at the front desk when we checked in and checked out were nice. There was no complimentary breakfast on Saturday morning though, which is a little odd, since you would think that would be a busy time and they would do breakfast.

I think we may go back again... next time, I want to try the property right on Lake Travis. We take a couple trip every year and this would be a good place to stay, with the full kitchenette and the large living room area. The regular price is over $100.. I don't think we'd pay that much to stay here, but for the $30 we spent, it was well worth it.

If you stay here, definately call ahead and ask for a room facing a parking area and near the office area in the front. Location was near many things, outdated, but clean and the people were very friendly.

Room Tip: Upstairs toward the front the complex, facing the parking area

“Regular visitor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Very comfortable and secure suites hotel. Very clean, breakfast is great and a great happy hour. We stay there only when visiting our son at the University of Texas. We like that it is a green hotel and the staff is very helpful and it has always been very welcoming when we visited. We use to look for the best price in Austin and always found hotels to be inconsistent. We stay here always because we know what to expect. Consistently clean and great service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the interior are more quiet
