I stayed at this hotel as a forced R&R break from my doctoral studies. It is less than 1/4 mile from my home and I was drawn to the lobby with the pool that went both indoors and out (something I saw when having a renter come sign a lease there, because it is a prominent location).
It is themed towards pilots and aviators (obviously) and wants to be a Holiday Inn but is far too musty/musky. I think this is because some rooms allow smoking and it permeates the hotel. Although the ambiance says "nice hotel"- they will not bring things to your room like a nice hotel nor was there a bellhop.
The standard room, however, was well-priced and friggin' HUGE! I had a patio, a couch, a coffee table and king size bed for less than $79/night (I negotiated downward from the typical $79 walk-in rate). I am attaching the picture I uploaded to Facebook. The bed was a marshmellowy delight and my car was conveniently parked next to the room, through an exit that required a key, so it was both convenient but SAFE.
Overall, my stay acheived its purpose of making me rest in a nice space and a nice price. Families will be pleased.
