“Noisy but Convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

The room was comfortable, and I really like having a separate 'living room' area. However, I am confused why hotels that have guest room doors open onto an atirum area not address the noise factor. The gap below the door was significant, easily letting in light and noise throughout my stay. A bath towel takes care of the problem for the most part -- but there must be a better solution! I will likely stay again, but will bring earplugs.

Thank you for your review. With our atrium style we have received some complaints of noise in the front living rooms of our suites on the lower levels. However, since our bedrooms are in the back of the suite and separated by another door, they are usually very quiet. Also, if you let us know next time you are coming we have a "Quiet Zone" which is a standard for all Crowne Plaza Hotels. It is on our top floor and we would be happy to put you up there. Thank you again for your review. Regards, Jeremy Skinner - General Manager

“Excellent Meeting Space and Meal Set Up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

To Monica - Sales and Catering - Just a short note to Thank You for all your efforts in setting up our managers meeting in December. I appreciate that you must have the patience of a Saint to be able to keep up with all the changes that were made due to the wants and needs of us. And mind you, not my wants and needs, but our Director of Sales. He is a man of many changes!
Yet you stuck in there, no pushing or hurry ups of any kind, and I really appreciate it. Any and all of my questions were always answered friendly and professionally. And as I don't usually get involved with these types of off-site meetings, there was almost no effort whatsoever.

I had absolutely no worries that everything would be just perfect, and that if something did happen to come up, you were right there to make sure our needs were met with satisfaction.

Lunches were AWESOME! Set-up was nice, and I appreciate that you and the staff didn't just set the buffet up, and leave. Yourself and staff stayed right in the area, not in the way, but just close enough to make sure everyone had just what they needed.

Anyway, Great Job, and Thanks again!

“More to be desired”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

As a professional musician, I travel quite a bit and stay at various levels of hotels. Yet I expected more from this hotel. I was in room 707, nice and quite upper floor. However, my heating unit never worked and I found myself freezing every morning. To combat the cold, I jump in the shower with the strangest on/off mechanism. You turn the knob to turn on the water and after that it is a guessing game where hot and cold is. If you go all the way to the left it becomes cold so you have to find your way back for hot. That would be okay but the water pressure was so low I had 3 showers where the hot water didn't kick in about half way through the shower. This is just unacceptable. Other things include the old style tv and bed with no head board. I can live with those but the shower and heating unit is ridiculous. Couldn't wait to go home and take a real shower.

Room Tip: make sure you get an upgraded room

Thank you for your review. I want to apologize for the problems you had in your suite. When I saw your review I immediately asked my Chief Engineer to go to the room and check it out. He found a contactor problem with the heater and a mixing valve problem with the shower. He had both fixed in about 20 minutes. We did replace all televisions in our hotel with the new LG flat screens but that must have been just after your stay. I looked over our front desk records and could not see anywhere that anything was reported to maintenance for your suite. If you did report it and we didn't take care of I am really sorry but our maintenance department is usually very on top of any service calls. Thank you again for your review and we hope to have to you back as a guest soon. Regards, Jeremy Skinner - General Manager

“Not quiet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

After staying here a Friday and Saturday night in January, we have to wonder about any reviews that say it is quiet. Most rooms open into a stone and glass atrium that functions as an amplifying echo chamber. The rooms that don't, are on the stairwell, where the door slams every time someone enters or exits. The tub had a PVC pipe in the ceiling which continuously dripped. We think it was the air conditioning condensate drain, but it reminded us of Chinese water torture. Ear plugs and eye shades were provided with the room, but were insufficient to block out the noise.
The front desk staff was nice and helpful. The buffet breakfast was handy. The room was clean.
But if you want to sleep here, bring industrial strength white noise!

Room Tip: Request a room that is not near the stairwell. The corner room we were in lacked the sitting area w...

Thank you for your review. I apologize about the noise during your stay. I had my Chief Engineer follow up on the stairwell doors you mentioned and there was a couple that needed to be repaired so they closed slower and did not slam. On your next visit just ask for our Quiet Zone and we will be happy to place you there. I know the weekend you were here we had a hotel full of young children and we do not place families with young children on our Quiet Zone. Thank you again for your review.
