“A disgusting filthy hotel....should not be a Marriott property.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

I stayed in this hotel for business yesterday. I travel almost every week and stay at Marriotts 90% of the time and am usually very pleased. The hotel corridor was filthy with worn carpet, broken ceiling tiles exposing wiring and extensive water damage. When I walked down the corridor it was obvious someone had thrown up in it but never cleaned it up. The smell was awful. Same for my room, if you want to call it that. Disgusting smell that reeked. I asked to change to another room and the front office worker (jesse) was very nice and did so. New room was better but still was dirty with worn carpeting and beat up frat house style furniture. Also the air conditioner DID NOT WORK. When I checked out this AM I spoke with the GM of the hotel (Angela). She cooly informed me that she was shocked by my experience and that they had a 92.3% customer satisfaction rating. No effort to make it right or address the issue whatsoever. Made sense as it was obvious the management could not care less about this property or its customers. STAY AWAY from this DUMP.

“Always Excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

We regularly stop at this hotel on overnight visits to the area. Service is always outstanding and better than at several other nearby properties. It's not the newest property, but it's clean, comfortable, and a pleasant place to stay. Snacks in the evenings are always great and the breakfast is plentiful.

“Lice!!!!!! Run away!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

During the actual visit, the stay was pleasant enough, but our trouble started on the way home. My six year old daughter was complaining that she kept finding bugs on her head rest. Not having ever had the miserable experience that lice are, I didn't think anything of it. Two days later when my daughter went for a hair trim the stylist pulled my wife over and showed her the lice. Now after spending over $150, huge amounts of laundry and the trauma to my daughter, I think we have it in control(keeping our fingers crossed). I was willing to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and assume she got the lice somewhere else unitl I did a google search. see here for more complaints: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/marriott_residence_inns_p2.html

“Great Hotel!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

stayed here for 2 nights in July. we went for 2 Texas Rangers games, Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags. the hotel was spotless, staff was very friendly, the breakfast was great, had very good hot food. the room you get for the money can't be beat, we paid $79/night for room with full kitchen, queen bed, pullout couch. tv was a little small, but adequate. our room was pretty quiet, didn't hear the usual kids screaming up and down the hallways at all hours of the night. the location is perfect, very easy access to all the attractions. there is a trolley that picks you up and takes you to all the attractions, but don't bother using it for the Ranger games. it could not accomodate a sellout crowd, we ended up taking a taxi with some other fans the first night, and driving our car to the game the 2nd night. overall was a very positive experience.

“Just excellent.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

This was our third stay at this hotel, and we've always been more than pleased. We always get a suite with two bedrooms/baths - just a godsend when traveling with teen girls not to have to jockey for the bathroom. Room also comes with a small living area, a dining table and chairs, and a pretty complete kitchen. Had to add a review to mention how marvelous they were when we decided to have a family gathering / shower. No charge to use one of their private conference rooms when our group simply overflowed the generous size of our room. Also want to compliment how clean our rooms always are, even in those hard-to-reach corners, and they aren't stingy with a few extra towels for the pool, either. Breakfast was continental but generous and my daughter enjoyed making her own waffles. Location is great if you are visiting Six Flags or the Ballpark, and there are plenty of nice places to eat in the nearby restaurant row. Whole Foods is nearby as well and has all sorts of great stuff including plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.
