“Woke up to bed bugs!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Well as we first came in, which entrance doors aren't locked, noticed how the hallways looked dingy and the carpet was in need of repair(dirty too). Settling into our room, noticing the matters was stained and pillows were dingy. I accepted it though and me and my boyfriend went to bed. Woke up in the morning to him complaining about a bug. I didn't think too much about it at first because I was under the impression that you can't see bed bugs. As I layer there and thought about it, it could have been lice. So I went and found him and we discussed what kind of bug it could have been. Needless to say, looked it up online and that's what he had found was bed bugs. After discovering that's what it was, we searched the bed and found two small ones and a bigger one. Reported it to front desk and got refunded for the stay. Money back or not, I will never stay there again. Also my boyfriend asked the front desk that if they were going to get the health department there and he replied with they were already suppose to be coming. Nasty nasty nasty! That place shouldn't be allowed to open back up until they have all new beds and remodeled!

“We paid too much for a bad night of sleep and poor customer service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We chose this hotel specifically because of the indoor pool and hottub. We never got in because kids were everywhere with very little supervision. The sheets had a stain and the pillows were dinky. In the middle of the night, we awoke to a car alarm constantly going off. Apparently it was broken in to. The cop kept opening the door before the owner was notified. Had the hotel taken license plate #'s, we might have gotten back to sleep. Our biggest issue was that the manager didn't have time to speak with us nor call back after we had to get back on the road. Poor customer service.

“Really not bad!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Stopped here on our way to the grand canyon. Really not bad for the price. Rooms were clean, except the bathroom probably needed a little upkeep. Good for a late night stop and early morning. Breakfast was decent for a quick bite before heading on the road.

“Front might be ok, but back wing is BAD BAD BAD”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Don't let the photos fool you. There is a back wing to this hotel that is horrendous. This is where they book the work crews passing through, those using Corporate Lodging, and by the looks of things, those wanting a room by the hour. The front of the hotel looks very nice, where the breakfast/lounge are, and the pool area. The pool's light was hanging out and floating in the water - it just didn't look safe.

Since we were traveling for business and using CLC, we were booked for the back of the hotel. None of the outside entrance doors were locked - anyone could come and go at any hour. What looked to be maintenance/supply closets in the hallways were missing their doorknobs and were closed with chains & padlocks.

Our group was using 6 rooms and there were issues with each room from toilets not flushing, sink handles broken off, to doors not closing/locking. The linens and towels were threadbare. It took forever to get checked in.

I was very disappointed although might not have been if we had been able to use one of the front section rooms for the same rate. This was a dive, no questions about it. If you have children, do not let them go anywhere without supervision - remember, the outside doors in the back of the hotel are not locked.

Room Tip: Don't Stay Here

“Hardly Terrible.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

I'm confused by some of the negative reviews I've read. While this property is clearly older, and has probably seen better days, it is far from terrible. Maybe these guests aren't used to staying in lower-end hotels, but for a hotel in the under $50 range, I was quite satisfied. Especially when similar chain hotels were quite a bit more when I was in town.

My room had clearly been recently "refreshed". That is to say not entirely renovated, but there is a new coat of paint, some new furniture, and what appears to be some updating in the bathroom (though the original fixtures, and some water damage remain.) The rooms weren't especially dirty, nor were there bugs.

Perhaps some of the other rooms are worse, and I lucked out? I don't know. But my stay was pleasent and a good deal. I would stay again if the price was right.
