We stopped at two other hotels only to find they were booked for the night. We should have driven on to Canyon, but we didn't. The Comfort Suites on S. Lake View Dr. had a vacancy and we took it. The stay was unremarkable until the next morning. I noticed 2 red spots on my upper thigh and lower abdomen. They itched a little. I didn't think much about it until we arrived home. They continued to itch. I did a little internet research and concluded bed bugs. Apparently in recent years they have become a huge problem for hotels, even high end hotels. I called the Manager P.K. to inform him of my discovery. He assured me there had not been any other complaints but, he would check and get back to me with the results. A month has gone by and I have not heard from him. My bites have healed, and I have thoroughly vacuumed my luggage and washed all the clothes. I now check the mattress when I check into a hotel.

Friendly staff and clean room. A great place to stay if you are passing through. Several food choices nearby.

We were delayed in our arrival to Amarillo and had to cancel our original motel on a moment's notice, re-booking at the Comfort Suites. What a lovely surprise! It was beautiful, clean, and spacious. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Had two single rooms and there was ho hassle to get extra keys. Rooms are roomy and bathrooms nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful (though little help was needed). Complimentary Continental breakfast was adequate. Apples were offered at the desk. With permission, kitchen was available after breakfast hours. Complimentary copy of USA Today newspaper. Off-the-street rate with no special discounts was $59 per night. Location is very near several eating places. All in all it was a great value, clean, and friendly. If you have small children, you may need to cover corners of coffee table and dresser.
