Very nice with tasteful decoration. Room on the small side, but the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a nice and tasty extra. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

The Holland Hotel was perfect for my wedding! My friends and family all stayed and loved it. The staff never said no to anything we needed and were always friendly. Its beautiful and clean & they even serve hot breakfast. I can't say enough about the staff :) EVERYONE there took part in making our stay there amazing!! Thanks to everyone again(special special thanks to Julie)! I recommend this hotel to any and everyone I know.

The Holland is a renovated historical hotel located in the heart of Alpine. We had eaten lunch there on our last trip to Big Bend and thought it would be an interesting place to stay. We were right! There is no longer a restaurant but we were told the new owners are going to open one. They do serve a complimentary, hot, filling, wonderful breakfast buffet – sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, tortillas, refried beans, salsa, cereals, toast, juice, coffee, etc.

We were in Room 203 which was a large Junior-King-Bed Suite with a large sofa and small bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable with wonderful linens. Ear plugs were provided for the train noise, but we heard only one train before retiring, so we didn’t use them.

The only downside of this stay was at check-out. The clerk had his small, yapping, sniffing dog up on the counter. That was no place for a dog as not everyone “loves” other people’s dogs in their face. I had even read that the hotel did not allow dogs, but he must have been an exception. Other than that, this is an excellent hotel and we will definitely stay there again when traveling to Big Bend National Park.

Just returned from another trip to the Big Bend area. The Holland Hotel is under new ownership and boy does it show. It's a fantastic historic hotel located right in the heart of Alpine. We walked to dinner and shopping. Last time there I kept thinking it's really cool & hip, but needed some TLC. Well, now it seems to be getting it. Breakfast is a much improved hot breakfast buffet, rooms seem to have little more going on -- interesting wall art and super comfy beds and sheets. The lobby seemed to be more put together and welcoming. The only thing missing is a great bar & restuarant and the staff syas that's coming. Can't wait to check it out.
