Stayed at this old-time motor lodge with my 13 year old Son. He hadn't seen many "motor lodges" before. The structures were dated, and the amenities are very simple or crude, but the price was reasonable and the personnel took interest to make sure we got everything we wanted and were satisfied. The bedding was very(very) simple, and although in some way uncomfortable we spent our days actively exploding so we crashed hard each night. There was a central ice machine for loading up the cooler before each day's travels (necessary it was about 100 degrees each day). The kitchen in the unit wasn't very usable, no cooler/refrigerator. My Son enjoyed the attached rock shop and they staff was very friendly, very patient, and helped teach him about mineralogy.

First, let me assure everyone that each of our rooms has a refrigerator in the kitchenette, and they all work. I emailed this reviewer and he admitted that he hadn't looked for the refrigerator, and just hadn't noticed it.
I would like to suggest that anyone who wants to write a review check the facts FIRST. This guest could have easily found the refrigerator -- it's right there under the two-burner stove, in the kitchenette where it belongs. But he didn't look. Instead, he wrote a review that many people have apparently read and taken to be true. His review has probably cost us some business, and some travelers have been misled about our motel because of what he wrote.
At the Antelope Lodge, we try very hard to make people happy while they are visiting us. It you stay with us and aren't satisfied with something, please let us know right then, so that we can make your stay more enjoyable. Thanks for reading this, and we hope to see you out in West Texas, enjoying our wonderful Fall weather!
