“One of the better Courtyard locations”

I just returned from a business trip to Dallas. I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for a week. I enjoyed my stay. My room was a decent size, with both a refrigerator and microwave. The TV selections were plentiful. The bed was perfect in firmness, with both feather and foam pillows provided. And there was a great little deck, looking over the courtyard and pool area.

My only issues were very minor. The single ice machine on the 2nd floor was tucked in the furthest corner of the hotel, requiring a lengthy walk to and from. Minor, but still, is it hard to add a 2nd, halfway in between? And the other issue was that the towels in the bathroom are very thin, resulting in a rough dry and the need to use more than one to achieve maximum dryness. Perhaps it is time to replace and upgrade?

All in all though, the staff, the room and the amenities were spot on. Friendly service and a clean, safe location to lay my head and do some work. I will return!

Room Tip: Second floor, interior facing the courtyard will be the best place. The decks are perfect for enjoy...

“No elevator”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This is a lovely Courtyard that actually has a courtyard. One of the things I enjoy Courtyards is that most of the rooms have a patio that you can actually stand on to get a little fresh air. The only downside to this Courtyard is that it doesn't have an elevator. If you're a single woman, travelling alone with a lot of stuff, beware. They will not promise a lower floor room, and there's no one to assist. The weekend I was there, the hotel was filled with teenagers from Oklahoma who were there for a sporting event. I cringed when I saw the busses, assuming I was in for a lot of noise, but either due to excellent acoustics, or well behaved kids, everything was just fine. I'd give it higher ratings if only they had an elevator, or would guarantee a request for first floor.

“Nice hotel, very convenient”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel September 30-October 2, 2011 along with 4 other couples. Our itinerary for the weekend included shopping, golf, attending a college football game, and celebrating my husband's 30th birthday. The hotel was very easy to find and located near many restaurants. We had no problems finding a Starbucks nearby and a number of dining options. We booked through cheaptickets.com and received complimentary breakfast buffets. This included make your own waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, and much more. Rooms were nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Flat screen TV in each room with sitting area. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

“good hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

My wife and I stayed for two weekend nights in September. The hotel was typical Courtyard, with old window air conditioners (but with a new wall thermostat), comfortable bed, simple buffet breakfast, nice lobby with chairs and business center, and the few usual noisy high-school kids slamming doors. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood.

“Nice People - Bad for Sleeping”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

I stayed at the Couryard by Marriott off Midway Drive in Addison, Texas this weekend. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and nice. The hotel was clean, but the most important thing to me is being able to get a good night's sleep while on a business trip. This problem may be common to all Courtyards, the hotel has window air conditioner's that make a tremendous amount of noise while running, but then click off when your temperature is reached. There is no setting that allows the "fan" of the AC to run continuously. Therefore, you alternate between loud noise, silence, and then a startling start up of the AC. This makes sleeping nearly impossible as you lie there and anticipate when the AC will shut off and then start up again. I will move on to the nearby Residence Inn or Marriott Hotel for future stays.
