We just returned from a short stay at the Comfort Inn on Landmark Blvd. in Addison, Texas. This was our first stay at this property, although we had stayed at other CI's previously. We chose this property based on the chain's reputation, the hotel's proximity to our plans, its pet-friendly policy, and its exceptional rates for that area!
When I called the property to ask a few more questions about its pet policies, I was assisted by a very friendly and helpful desk agent.
Upon check-in, we noticed that the lobby and common areas were neat and clean. Our request for a room with good outside access was granted easily. We had a corner room with 2 windows. The windows had sturdy locks, but one glass pane was cracked and the outside screen pushed out a bit in the corner.
For those staying with pets, there's ample grass around the property with a trash can outside the front door area. There are also sidewalks that make taking the dog for a walk a bit easier.
The hotel is located about a block off a stretch of road with a plethora of restaurants and shops, several within easy walking distance of the hotel. There are some business/office complexes nearby.
Our room was clean and orderly with no hint of any unusual odors. It appeared as if it had been recently painted and the carpet was in good condition. A bathrom towel rack repair was not done well, but otherwise the bathroom was in good condition. The room had a microwave and larger-than-compact refrigerator. The microwave turntable appeared to be a replacement that didn't quite sit properly, resulting in the turntable turning only intermittently. Still, it did the job.
Overall, the property is modest. Room decor is in good condition, but not super-upscale, which is just fine by me. There are a few signs of repairs needed on the property (spa was drained, doormats near back doors should be replaced, outdoor sprinkler valve covers are broken or askew, etc.), but there's nothing to suggest that these items won't be taken care of in the near future.
During our stay, the parking lot was never very full and there were a few times one could enter the lobby on the way to our room and never see a hotel employee, not even at the front desk.
Our schedule brought us back to the hotel in the wee morning hours. The back doors open only with room keys and the front door is locked. Access to the lobby is gained by entering the lighted front vestibule and showing a night attendant a room key. This security is appreciated but we never saw anything that gave us cause to question the surroundings.
Those that might be sensitive to noise should note that low-flying planes from a nearby airport begin to fly about 7 AM, give or take. I wasn't awakened by them, but was aware of them when I was outside.
For a great value on a good room in this area of Dallas, I'd recommend this property and would stay there again.
